In between the laundry, playing dads taxi all over town for the boys rugby, grocery shopping and a movie over the weekend, I picked up Nelson Mandelas "Long Walk to Freedom" again. Madiba understood the power of selflessness, and still delivered it with charming humility. (Sometimes my wif...

Its winter in Australia. I peeked outside today. The world has gone mad. Madiba, oh Madiba.... I actually like Boris Johnson. He has an optimistic character and strikes me as ethical and proud. I don't know how long he would last with the foxes. At last I am going skiing with my sons this week. . . ...

It looks like the people who called this current UK vote may be left counting their fingers! Two Australian women were among those murdered in the recent attacks in London. Australia played the Saudi team in a soccer match in Adelaide last night. The Australian team stopped to observe a minutes sile...

I have no solutions to offer. Murder is not a solution. Sending refugee kids back to Syria for example is not a solution.

Even a *no dickheads* policy is not a solution. I can only offer support!

I will save the Liam Gallagher jokes for another time.

New South Wales won game 1 of the best of three rugby league State of Origin series. . . . NSW have won 1 series in the last 11 or 12 years.

Corbyn is playing the same poll driven game. The media measures the pollie who is being polled. The media influences the punter who registers the poll. It will take an unshakeable belief in a panacea for a brave pollie to stand the test of a media which is willing to dig up crap the said pollie may ...

Speaking of the media, I am concerned about Kim Jong-un and the media pumping up his tyres about how he is giving the US and Trump the schizers. . . . . Proper naughty that UK media: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/10/brexit-eu-referendum-campaign-media-coverage-immigration By and larg...

Point 1 for today: When religion and law are not kept separate by the state, then the doorway to chaos is left open to suck people in. In Indonesia this week, the caning (83 whacks each) of the two men caught in a homosexual relationship they were having in private, and then the heterosexual married...

Some countries make up for shortcomings in different ways. Then there are generation gaps and how appeal changes between them.... bloody hell. Did I just say that? Moving on. Enjoyed some of the posts around the place. I used to go with a girl whose father would practise his wing chun on me. He used...

Interesting.... if the Nordic theory is true then that would be like a "don't fence me in" approach. The UK head of population per sq mile versus the Scandinavian countries hop is much more congested. The freedom and calm that comes with space lends itself to many different behaviours. Mos...

On Brexit, whoever is running the army wins battles. Controlling the media wins wars. The Brits would be happy to drop the cost of NI, while splitting the UK or GB ( I am sure the gas and oil up north are profitable) into Scotland, England and Wales would make the rugby even more interesting! I thin...

Thinking of Haruchai

Here's to dipping my toe in the water. It has been a while since I read the books. So just saying "hi" after joining and before I head off for a look around.
