I liked Scar, or rather I liked the concepts and images it drew from my brain. I often find Mieville unneccisarily gruesome and gory. I tend to like his ideas more than his execution of them

The worst book I've ever read is thankfully not translated into English... But if it were it would be called something like "The land of the waterpeople" Augh! Horrible, sexist badly written unimaginative and boooring!

The book of the Courtier. by Count Baledessar Castillio. Interesting book on how to be a courtier translated into English in 1561 and widely read in Elisabethan England.

Hm... I found " Brokeback Mountain" heartbreaking on several levels. I liked it a lot but I found the inevitability of the (mostly) sorrowful ending was draining. I differ from several rewiwers on this thread on one point though, I found the slow pace refreshing. It gave the characters tim...

Hmm, I saw you hadn't read "Enders Game" yet, Bob... I was absolutely obsessed with that book when I was fifteen. I read it uncountable times. I haven't touched it since then so I can't tell if it really is a good book or if it just was perfect for Ermingard aged 15. It has some fascinatin...

I dreamt that a friend of mine had died in a car crash... I woke up absolutely convinced that said friend was dead and I was worrying because I didn't know when the funeral was to be. It took me almost half an hour to realize that it was just a dream and that she was alive and well. I was absolutely...

I can't compete with you for briefness and to-the-pointedness Bob, so I won't even try a single word reply...;) I liked this movie a lot more than it's predesessors! Well none of the original angels are really my type :P (too fluffy haired :P) so I'll stick with Buffy's Angel (though if given a choice I would prefer Spike *drools*) Has Gilligans Island ever aired outside the US of A? The only reason I don't qualify as a creature living under a rock :P is that i ...

Yes Harry is an annoying teenager in book five and I applaud Rowlings for writing him like that and letting her hero grow up! I like it that he isn't so cute and likable anymore, if he keeps this up he will grow up to be a real human being instead of remaining a boy-hero forever! Hurray! :S ;)

I'm a compulsive re-reader, if I like a book I read it again, even detective stories (I conveniently tend to forget who the murderer was ;) ) I often find new things in a book the second (or in some cases the 51th ;) ) time I re-read it. That either that says something about the books I read, or som...
