Fantasy/Scifi with Gay characters
Having just read the "What if TC was gay" thread it makes me wonder what mainstream or close-to mainstream Fantasy and SciFi books out there have gay characters in them? As a gay man I would be very interested in this. How many Gay main characters out there? There can't be many. Just curio...

C S Friedman
Has anyone here ever read C S Friedmans Coldfire trilogy? I picked them up a few years back because the cover art was so cool and absolutely loved them. If you enjoy fantasy with a touch of scifi then you will enjoy the Coldfire series. Book 1: Black Sun Rising Book 2: When True Night Falls Book 3: ...

Wow, I'm delighted and surprised at the response to this thread. I was wondering if my question would be welcomed or scorned. Let me recap the suggestions so far: A Song of Ice and Fire (George RR Martin?) I've heard a lot about this book, its part of a series right? I should probably read it. Morda...

There's a certian character in Mordant's Need who may have preformed an evil, violent act that, un42nately, may fall somewhere at the edge of those parameters...the same thing might, just might be true at a certian part of the Neverness SF series... Really? Gosh, its been a while since I read those...

Gay SciFi/Fantasy?
Anyone know any science fiction or fantasy books that have gay characters?
I read a fantasy series a while back where the main character was gay, it wasn't the best I've ever read ( I can't even remember the series ) but it was still interesting.
Just curious.
Take care,
Matthew

Matthew, I just recently finished Legends II - Diana Gabaldon's Lord Grey story is not only very well-written, but deals with a gay protagonist in a positive light. You might like it. I understand that she's begun a series of novels featuring this character. Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. I h...
Loved the first season of Lexx, and the second. I love original scifi and this stuff was original with a capital O! LOL But then the fire and water stuff started and just bored the sh*t out of me. I hated it. Then they finally left there and ended up at earth and it still sucked. I finally just quit...

You know its official, they are in production of a Farscape mini-series right now. :D Can't wait. I have to say though, that during the last half of the 3rd season and most of the 4th season I kept thinking I must have missed some key episodes because I had no idea what was going on most of the time...

Most fav movie ever? I don't even have to think about it -- Excalibur, hands down. I've seen this movie so many times that I can quote the dialogue almost word for word throughout the entire movie. LOL I should be ashamed of that, but strangely I'm not! LOL I want to say that LotR movies are now my ...

Rendezvous With Rama has been in the planning stages for years now. With Morgan Freemans production company working on it. I'm doubtful it'll ever see the screen though. From Cinescapes website's Development Heck section (July 2002): Director: David Fincher (tentative) Status: Slowly developing Insi...

I've not been offended by anything anyone has said. I've been enjoying the conversation honestly. As I've stated before I'm fully aware that my opinion is in the minority and I'm not trying to change anyones opinion nor do I feel that anyone is trying to change mine. We're just sharing viewpoints. :...

I think the difference in opinion regarding ST:Nemisis and Enterprise is that I don't expect much from a Star Trek show. I quit expecting much after the Next Generation wimped out of the borg scenario. I realized that while the powers that be were great at coming up with deep situations that in the ...

I've been a confirmed Trekker since 1972, but in recent years, I've much preferred shows like Firefly, Farscape, Buffy and Angel. I think I'm just hanging on now for a miraculous recovery. :R Didn't Firefly just rock! I bought my DVD set the day it was release. I'm hoping that all the rumors of a F...

But Nemesis - gotta vehemently disagree with that choice. I consider it, if not the worst Trek movie, certainly in the bottom three. Filmed in too much darkness, the story is flat, Data's death scene is laughable compared to Spock's similar scene in Wrath of Khan, and to me, the actors were just go...
