Tower and Thoughts for Roland (and the rest of us!)
Escellent points, Gunslinger. I agree that Wizard and Glass is the best of the series (so far). I enjoyed both the flashback tale and the contemporary one. Roland's obsessive quest and how it takes everything away from him, leaving only the quest itself, is brilliantly portrayed. Then we see how a ...

D'OH! Chap it IS! Dagnabbit!
 ya got me, Roland! In the vernacular...I cry you pardon. I think Roland will make it there and do battle with the thing that awaits him in the Tower. Flagg will die too, and undoubtedly take someone we love with him, perhaps Eddie. What role Pat of Insomnia will play to save their lives is a ...

Larry Underwood? And A Poll: Favorite "Stand" Ch
Does anyone else really like or identify with Larry Underwood of the Stand? I thought of all the protagonsits in hte Stand, he and perhaps Nick Andros were the most "Gunslinger"-esque in their psyches and growth.
Forgive me if this poll has already be conducted, but:

Does Jack Sawyer Remind anyone of Agent Cooper?
Remember Cooper from Twin Peaks? Jack (Black House and the Talisman) remind me of him quite a bit in his capacity for good, and zen-like detective work. Cooper was good, almost to the point of goofiness. His trust in Love and good led to his demise in the Black Lodge, if you remember the show. Anywa...

I must say that I find Wizard and Glass to be the absolutely best book of the DT series to date, WoC included. I think to fully appreciate the scope of Roland's calling to the Tower, one has to see that which he willingly gave up, or destroyed. Susan His Mother Alain Cuthbert Sheemie These are all r...

I know the Wachowski brothers are tight-lipped about their sources, but it would certainly please me if I found out they've read The Chronicles. Since The Matrix is a synthesis of many different things, who knows? It's possible. But comparing two such differing mediums--film and literature--is prob...

To "Roland of Gilead" and "Furls Fire" (
Roland, you are referring to "PAT"... he is the one Ralph and Lois rescue. My theory is...and Furls Fire, if you haven't read Insomnia, please read no further (Spoiler)...is that Pat may be the unborn in Susannah, OR that Tyler may be his Twinner in the territories.

Jack and Book 7
You said it Fulrs Fire! I surely hope we see Jack in the books somewhere. I DO understand that there is a 3rd and final story to be told with Jack in another joint effort by King/Straub...no detais on dates or anything. Have you read "Insomnia"? If so, what do you think "Pat" (th...

Who, In the Larger Sense, are ANY of US?
I live in a small towen in WI...yes, the WI you all have heard about where we all wear wedges of cheese upon our heads (sense any sarcasm?). Anyway, I am in my mid-30's, stay fit, and am the Father to 2 over-achieving 9-year olds! I have been a devotee of Covenant since 1989, and am a huge Dark Towe...

More Detail & an Apology
First allow me to apologize for making a hasty generalization about the belief structures involved in aetheism. I am judgement free, please be aware. Also, KA is really Karma...reference from the Dark Tower series. Secondly, when I refer to the unintended consequences brought about by Bush's fundame...
Yeah, it is sick. I am amazed. And it is going to get worse. Reports indicate rapes and murders taped and photographed. Rush and other apologists declare that this is all overblown...nothing more than our guys blowing off steam or instituting frat house hazings. To me, and I support the men and wom...
