Comic update

I figured I'd share the link with y'all. I knew I'd eventually dedicate one strip mentioning one of my favorite authors, so here goes:

Hmm..

Any major "Hollywood" film. That's another thing, if I had my way, major Hollywood studios would NOT get their hands on any of SRD's work if he and some indy film makers decided to make it into a series of movies. I'd keep something like that independent as humanly possible.

Yes, indeed

Well, no matter who plays as what characters in the Gap films, my butt is still calling sick the day that movie comes out! ;) I mean, if it WERE to come out...not sure how you'd divvy the films up... Or make it the ultimate mini-series for HBO or something like that. I'd say Sci-fi Channel, but...to...

hehe

SRD actually e-mailed me about it and said he liked the art, but *no* depiction of his writing is ever what he himself imagined. Fair enough. :) Either way,it's not everyday a writer inspires me this much. Goes to show how much how influential a writer can be.

Well...

I'm goin' out on a limb here: I know SRD wrote it but...I still don't agree. Sigourney as Sorus? Yes, I can see that. Vin Diesel as Angus? No. I just can't see it. (Sorry, Stephen) Mr. Diesel hasn't got a frog face, isn't fat and is not very loud, and last I checked his eyes were silvery, not yellow...

Well, now...

And I don't think John Goodman would be on the front cover of Playgirl, either. Not really an UH-GLY guy, but give him some severe five o'clock shadow, dirt, grime and alot fo sweat, and there you go. Angus. "'Course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." -Dennis Miller -Dutch www.mis...

Wedded..?

Hmm...I think it comes down to exactly what I would be wedded to and how much of a different person I would be.
If I chose cybernetic enhancement of any sort it would be something for more practical purposes such as making my eyesight 20/20.

I think that's about it, really. :)

Good points to be had

I'm sure everyone here remembers Alien and its sequel Aliens, which is supposedly placed around 100 years from now, maybe late 21st century/early 22nd, I believe. I think it's safe to say the Gap Cycle would take place not too many years then, but maybe tack 50 years since the humans in Aliens were ...

Mikka?

I had just read your post and decided to see if I could conceptualize Mikka. www.foxden.net/~dutch/Mikka.JPG By the way, how the heck do you pronounce her last name?? It sounds Polish. I wanna say 'Va-sesk', but it seems wrong. 'Va-seck', maybe? He has all kindsa odd names in those stories. :) -Dutch

Hmm..

My question is...what was the entire "behind-the-curtain" situation involved with this poor gal mutilating herself time and time again for each new act? Was she made to do this by someone running the show, or is she just so at the bottom of the barrel she'll do anything to get some cash? I...

Whew...

One thing I'll have to say about SRD's work is that so far, everything I've read of his has an emotional intensity to it that I've not read in other stories, save for maybe the Ender books by Orson Scott Card. SRD's work is exhausting. Everytime I turn through a few chapters, I feel taking a nap. :)...

Glad to see such a friendly forum here. Sadly, that's pretty rare in and of itself. But then...this is an SRD forum, and SRD stories have class, therefore, this forum has class! And I like it! ;)

Dang! And I live in the state right next to his! Long drive from Austin, but hey, if I didn't just start my job, I'd go! Are we gonna have anymore of these?? I hate to miss out. I know my friend who got me into SRD would definitely wanna go too!
