Ah, I think I see what you're saying. You're wondering what would Linden see if, for instance, she traveled back in time *again*. Would she see herself and the others traveling to Earthroot? I think she would. She wouldn't see her future self though the "first" time going but definitely th...

I'd have to agree too. Unlike usual alternate time line stories where past time travel creates new, forever separate time lines (see Back to the Future, Chrono Trigger, etc) it's as if in the Land you can create divergences, but like a wave form, the divergences tend to (hopefully) find their way ba...

Ah, the beginning of the many woes that befall Trell's family. They just can't catch a break, can they? I always felt a lot of the thoughts you mention going through Covenant's head were brought about by his stay at the leprosy hospital, particularly being shown the deformed man. Covenant wraps hims...

I'm sorry. To be more specific, when did he get it before that?

Or for that matter... what is the extended history of that scar all together?

Jog my memory. When did he get that scar last?

SD does seem to mention it a lot in AATE. Wonder why.

Looking back, TC sacrificing himself for Joan in TWL was incredibly pivotal in Linden's feelings about him throughout the following books. I'm interested to see how she reacts to him having killed her.

I bring this up in every topic that makes this assumption. I think we all tend to picture a "Dune-esque" creature, when in reality SD has yet to reveal what form it takes.

Who knows, maybe it's form changes based on what it eats.

"W-What?! Wormchu is evolving!"

True. He probably didn't know. Just said the right things. Foul is just a masterful chess player with one blind spot inherent to being "despite" personfied.

Welcome to the Watch! I kind of had a similar experience. A few years after reading the 1st Chron I randomly discovered there was a 2nd out there. WHOA REALLY?! What a pleasant surprise, eh? And by the time I had finished the 2nd the 3rd was announced... I feel bad for those of you that began this j...

any chance of a hint ? The ending of TLD, read at your own risk! It turns out Lord Foul is actually YOU the READER. You've been trapped reading these books the entire time. Darn you Creato--err, Stephen Donaldson! As the final chapter closes and the arch shatters the words on the page slowly jumble...

I agree. I feel there's a deep connection there... whether it's the divorce, the moment leprosy showed itself, or a novel being written (or destroyed). I asked SD in the gradual interview about TC's importance as a writer to that connection... and while I'm satisfied with the answer, I think he dodg...

I'unno... I can't help but think that a Chronicles movie would feel like an episode of Dragon Ball Z.

Mordant's Need, and even the Gap Cycle would make much better candidates.

This, verbatim, is what I probably would have posted... even the comparison to Thrones. Game of Thrones is a fantasy soap opera, relying on external conflicts. What makes The Chronicles compelling are the internal conflicts... something that's impossible to translate well in a visual medium. There's...

I... kinda see the similarities. But also the differences. Let me make an analogy. Insequent are to Vain as Unfettered are to Findail. OR If I were to make a metaphor. If the Land is a book, the Insequent study the words, page numbers, and syntax. While the Unfettered study the meaning and emotions ...

To me it seems they're witholding the freedom to be guilty. They're trying to be Masters of morality. The haruchai think "Okay, so power fundamentally makes you guilty of either evil (misuse of power) or innaction (not using your power) so let's take all power away and make people impotent (and...

Yes this, pretty much the events at the very beginning of the book.

What was happening in the Land at the beginning of LFB?

Considering how much time passes between when TC goes to pay his bills to appearing on the Watch, and the way time passes more quickly in the Land... what would you say was going on at the beginning of the series?

I immediately imagined this conversation happening after TC is reunited with the rest of the company... so someone from that group, I suppose? A Giant or Mahrtiir could be good candidates too. Or maybe even Roger? Tom still needs to deal with the other half of his family. Looking at the trailer agai...

Well I suppose the Worm could have delved through the Earth a bit before emerging into the ocean away from the Tree.

More importantly though we still don't know what form the Worm will take. Sure maybe it's, well, a giant worm. Or maybe it's a 100 foot marshmallow man... thanks a lot, Ray.
