Think they're using the term as an insult. Like when they call them Bloodguard.

IMHO the rule that you return to the "real" world when your summoner dies no longer applies as both the Laws of Life and Death are broken. Have to disagree with you there I'm afraid. Linden returned to the real world when Foul was destroyed. That took place after the laws of life and deat...

Yeah, but the Haruchai certainly know the Elohim, and they sure as hell don't like them! Also Linden would be able to perceive the Mahdoubt as an Elohim. iirc neither Linden nor the Haruchai spotted Findail when he hid himself inside the mast of Starfare's Gem. But I can't quite remember the details.

2 questions at the back of my mind

Two things keep bothering me. Why can't Covenant stand between the Arch of Time and Joan's ring as he did with Lord Foul? And who summoned Linden and the rest? I first assumed it was Foul, as in the second chronicles, but I think at one point there is a suggestion that the summoner was Joan. It rath...

Might she be Elohim? She seems to melt away into shadow like one? And the Ramen, who previously encountered an Elohim, one of them seemed to recognise her for a moment.

Ah so now you're saying that Jeremiah gave the inklings of understanding to Nom!? 8O :haha: Interesting thought, but no, I wasn't saying that myself. The croyel were responsible for the imprisonment of Nom, not, so far as I know, his enlightenment. Although they may have taught him enough to obey h...

The Whaynin knew what a croyel was too, and they've been hiding underground since the onset of the Sunbane. iirc they'd heard the name rather than knew what they were. We don't really know how or where they heard. Nor do we really know at what point Jeremiah half-entered the land. There's no reason...

I don't think so! One Jeremiah cannot generate a RACE of croyel!! Ah but do we know they were a race? We saw two, but not simultaneously, and there's at least some reason to think that the Arguleh croyel was recent, perhaps post-dating the death of Kasreyn. We do have Findail's comment however. &qu...

- is it possible that J was drawn into the Land when he put his hand into the fire? That would mean him being around in the Land ever since the Second Chronicles, maybe even earlier than TC and LA, as minutes passed between his immolation and our heroes' summoning? Yes most here think that must be ...

Mhoram (or someone) said the answers of the dead rebound on the living.

If Covenant's true voice comes from the earth, which his wild magic is graven in, might it be that the voices of the earth are all, in truth, also the voice of the dead? After all, where do the dead go but to the earth.

Why didn't Lord Foul (or the 2 Ravers) spring Kastenessen? Or maybe a croyel ? Same reason he didn't rouse the Worm of World's End perhaps - he wouldn't have survived the outcome without the ring. I think he has something to do with TC's and Jeremiah's appearence at the end of Runes. I think one ne...

Is it not a safe bet that his grandson (Esmer) sprang him? Remember Esmer summoned the Demondin, who seem to take instruction fron the fiery dude we all think is Kassie. Maybe Esmer even used a caesure to bust him out.

I'm put in mind that the stones also spoke to Berek and brought forth fire lions on Mount Thunder, and Anele is also a friend of stones at a time when the fire lions appear to have become Skurj.

Maybe Anele can master the Skurj.

Come on people, make an effort! What's the point of being an obsessive fan if you can't try to cram every blip and error into some kind of cohesive plot fragment. OK how about this. Linden saw so many things at the same time when her health sense expanded to encompass the land, the first time she w...

Why did Linden think the ur-viles were all killed by Foul?

In 'White Gold Wielder' after Foul was destroyed, it says: "Somewhere above them, the few surviving ur-viles watched Kiril Threndor in a reflective pool of acid and barked vindication at Vain's success." So why do she and the Haruchai think there should not be any ur-viles left? Is this a ...

Do any of ya'll think that it is possible that the Sandgorgons have some of the same capabilities to 'ride' time as the Ranhyn? When TC summoned Nom, he had a hell of a far way to go to get to him at Revelstone, yet he made all the way from Brathairealm (spelling?) to Revelstone rather quickly, don...
