My study is on speed of processing in the brain and intelligence. It is argued that intelligence is comprised of several components like reasoning ability and knowledge. Speed of processing, according to the literature, is related to reasoning ability; more intelligent people have more efficient pr...

Another excellent post. I agree completely, especially about it being a matter of perspective. Everything is, I think.

It's the only way you can do it. Is she a fellow student tho, or a random respondant? If random, it may be difficult to re-establish contact legitamately afterwards. All you can do is comport yourself with utmost decorum during the research, and gauge it from there. I'm terminally curious, so if I m...

I agree. It's actually the second time I'm reading it. He's one of the very few authors who actually make me laugh aloud, and I often find myself in agreement with the satirical social commentary that he slips in quite deftly.

Excellent, I love Dune, especially the first one.

I'm busy with a Terry Pratchett, Night Watch.

Just finished TCTC again.

Thanks Hierarchy. I've always thought the little guy in your avatar looks like Neelix from Voyager :) Cj-- I've always loved SofC, although I admit it can be overdone. When I find it, I'll post some SofC stuff I've written in the Hall of Gifts. Take it easy folks, I'm off for the day. Later --Avatar

In the extreme right hand column of the main board, there is a link to the most recent post in a specific forum. The link gives the name of the last poster, and the date that they posted on. I would like that column to also include the title of the thread in which the post was made. This way, when t...

I think that's a brilliant idea. There are plenty of threads I've never seen, because I rarely, if ever, get off the first page.

An archive would allow us to save the best, and delete the remainder.

Consider your motion seconded.

A humble suggestion

Morning Folks.

Just wanted to ask if it's possible to modify the "Most Recent Post" column on the main boards to include the title of the topic that was posted in?

That way, we'll kno if we're interested or not.

Just an idea.

Very Good! We do seem to follow each other around don't we? Must be the compelling intelligence of our respective posts. In light of this, I have to guess Cj again. This'll teach me to just click on the "most recent post" link. Can't that link be modified to include the topic it was ...

I know I've said this somewhere else, but personally I'd love to see sequels. Afterall, the main characters are still alive, so we could have a realistic time perspective, i.e. they're all older. I do wonder if he'll follow the event sequence of the novels set after RotJ, with Han and Leia having tw...

Aah, woe is me! In Darkest Africa I'll have to wait at least a few months for it to reach here. I don't worry about things like that though, or harass my local bookstore managers. I patiently wait until I see it incidentally on the shelves. Sometimes I even wait for the soft-cover to come out before...
