White Gold Wielder

I know I'm not around the watch all that often (although I have started lurking around a bit more recently), but I thought I should share the news here because I'm sure you all will appreciate the continuity. My girlfriend accepted my proposal last night, which of course, I made with white gold. So,...

And hence I see little hope; when the Tories eventually get it together to ditch Boris Johnson, then either something worse will replace him, or a general election will put Kier Stamer in situ in place of him - and he'll dance to the tune of exactly the same masters as Johnson does and nothing - no...

So very true, there are some 2003 threads necro'd around the place I've seen recently.

There *are* however, old people ;)

I have always interpreted the Lords to be more magical caretakers than rulers - certainly they possess status and power, but these two things do not necessarily a soverign class make. Certainly it seems that most of the people of The Land defer to their judgement, but this seems to be more defering ...

The only ones I can see are the four that depict the giant ship. I'm more saying that I'm going to scan the entire book into PDF.

My hardback copy of the atlas has had the spine snap in the middle through age and use. I am considering removing the pages and scanning them into a PDF. I'm not sure on the legalities of this since it's out of print, but would be willing to share as long as it won't get me into legal trouble.

Where/when in the Chronicles is your game set? I essentially replace Covenant with the player party. They normally go through the quest for the staff pretty much as written in Lord Fouls Bane - with a few extra combats thrown in and instead of automatically diverting to Soaring Woodhelven, they hav...

I feel like I'm doing a re-read at the moment, as my partner is reading the first chronicles for the first time. I'm very much enjoying her reactions to events chapter by chapter. Apparently Bannor is one of her favourite characters in literature (and she's very bookish), I can't help agreeing. I'm ...

I'll see what I can do. Busy with the partner, dogs and university these days.

But I don't want to derail the thread, so I hope that dAN is as comfortable as he can be and that those close to him get the opportunity to make their peace.

I may not post or even come around these parts too much anymore, but I remember you all, including Dan, and I am saddened to hear about this.

Hellish though it may be, the Atlas of The Land clearly shows that the Earthblood is under Melenkurion Skyweir, so I'm not sure where the logical leap for Damelon's Door to lead to fouls creche is. (Also, Fouls Creche is about 240 leagues farther South than that edit suggests.) https://i.imgur.com/o...

I don't know about impressive, it's just a few dots on a map, but it was interesting to me that all evidence thus far suggests a grouping like this. Is there more information RE: the wards in the GI?

I'm surprised that I've never done this before, but I've been trying to decide where to place the Wards for my game... so I plotted the locations (approximately, and marked the Grieve for the 1st ward as the Giants had it) of the known Ward locations... https://i.imgur.com/FjB2fsF.jpg Is it just me,...

Given the nature of the last Chronicles - in that SRD used it as a medium to explain all the questions that we the readers (which he was aware of due in large part to this forum) had since the beginning of the series, and thus to tie up all those loose ends - I would be surprised if that interaction...

A Covenant series could go totally gonzo and start off with the Creator forging the world, Foul messing with it, the Creator locking him inside the Arch as punishment....then seque into TC at the Leprosarium or Joan leaving him. That juxtaposition would be jarring to say the least. I think that wou...

Re: Is it unrealistic to even attempt to make a movie?

That first episode would be a balancing act between laying out Covenant's miserable life and his fantastical translation to the Land. I'm just getting mental images of Covenant falling and hitting his head on the coffee table... then fade to black, cliff hanger, end of episode. Although I know it w...

Everyone has bad days... and I think that anyone who's made something artistic can share the balking at the idea of someone twisting and torturing it to change it into another medium that it was never designed for.

(I still want to see it done, though.)

A necro-bump because I just re-read this passage and I questioned what it meant.

I like the idea of Birinair calling himself an old man, since it was clear that he was one.
