WOT quizzes

I just took the Lords of Lord's Keep quiz. I don't remember 4 of Kevin's Wards being found. The Giants brought the 1st, they found the 2nd at the end of LFB, and Amok/EarthBlood/PoC was the 7th. Am I forgetting something, or is the quiz wrong? I really wish there was a way to assure accuracy ...

Well, the pre-Crisis Earth I Superman could have beaten both of them at the same time. I'm not betting on either the Earth II or post-Crisis Supermen.

Although I don't have any idea what the song was, I remember liking something from Dave Matthews Band's first album. But I LOVE The Space Between!! One of my very favorite songs!

Introducing....

my daughter. Shaina was born 45 hours ago (as I write). 3:28am EST, Jan 23. Her middle name is McKenzie, but I often call her Shaina McBlondie. Her hair's not too thick, but it's long and blond. She's our third. The oldest is 6. PLEASE let at least one of my kids be interested in TCTC!!!!!! :)

Wow, this is a fun thread!!!! :D Regarding actual power... I would assume that much was learned between Berek and Kevin, so Kevin probably had a lot more power at his disposal. [Another option is that the Earthpower gave Berek all knowledge of power that the Lords ever knew, and the time between Ber...

Nice job duchess!!! Actually, it only says that Bannor recited "something". But I won't argue the point with you. Whether they would say so or not, the Haruchai are certainly poets! "In the song of the merewives we heard the fire of our yearning for that which we ...

I can't find anything saying that Troy had ever planned an actual battle. It would seem that everything was on paper, and mock-battles. Troy was a tactical genius, but he had no practical experience. When the exercises showed who would win the battle if it was real, they probably packed it in...

I'll agree that Berek is the greater man. When he knew that he was defeated, he didn't think anything that suggests despair. However, he was defeated. Not accepting defeat, that is, not feeling despair and giving up, doesn't mean you don't get physically defeated. It "only" means yo...

Re: The simple life

I don't think ANY command would be a safe one. I always assumed that Amok was a being of earthpower, and was never really "alive" to begin with. But if he was, commanding him back to life would likely break the Law of Death the same was as bringing back Kevin did. Possible. But I did</...

I think SRD made Troy eyeless so that he would be more passionate, and therefore more convincing to TC. What I mean is, if he had become blind some time after birth, or even born blind but with eyes, it wouldn't have been as miraculous a feat to give him sight. We can do lots of neat stuff like that...

My Command would be...

That EarthBlood is nasty stuff!!! Kevin couldn't think of anything that he thought was safe enough. Elena obviously made a bad decision. If I drank the EarthBlood, I'd command Amok back to life. I'm assuming that I would be able to tell that he was not alive in the traditional sense ("Perhaps. ...

Lao Tzu said, "Not exhalting the gifted prevents quarreling." I don't like the idea of complimenting some, because I don't want others to feel bad. Fortunately, that isn't an issue here. I'm so impressed with everyone here that there's no point in listing you all individually. 20-21...

Yeah, I knew it. I just figured birdandbear was right, that maybe we shouldn't be allowed to win if we won within the last 30 days.

OK, I damit it! I didn't know!!! :x :) My guess was that it was Elena to Covenant.

Because something happens on earth does not mean it is natural well yeah I'd say thats a given .. there are indeed 'actions of nature' which can be deemed 'natural' .. ie: cyclones, storms etc.. and the rest are most often the result of human activity .. not 'natural' per se . Pretty much a given :...

If thoughts and wishes are worth anything, mine are with all of you. It seems so odd to be so immersed in TCTC again (since I found this site), with images of all that power racing through my head, and then feeling so helpless when something like this happens.

Anybody else into Ayn Rand? For those who don't know her, one of her books, Fountainhead, is about one particular architect's way of practicing his art, and life in general. Although I think Atlas Shrugged is a better book overall, Fountainhead is great, and has many fantasti...

Favorite non-Haruchai bits? Well, I started the "For the Giants" topic a while ago, so no need to do that again. How about Amok? Amok is one of my favorite characters of all books, movies, history, etc. Here's a great moment: The Ranyhyn were eager for a run after long days of const...
