Ok. So how would everyone feel if the series ended with Covenant waking up in the "real" world after a near-miss by a police car. Just asking.

All of the Last Chronicles reduced in size a lot from the first to final drafts. But they were no "cuts' made like with Gilden Fire. It was all just tightening up the writing.

I always try hard to tease without spoiling.
