Well I kind of agree that the prince is walking through life with blinders on but isn't that how we all live? Granted, some of us more than others, but we all see things through our own perspectives don't we? So I do not fault SRD for writing a character who is narrow-minded. I heard an old joke onc...

I just finished this book and I have to say that I enjoyed it. It was refreshing to read Donaldson without some major character being so filled with angst that you hated them. I could actually identify with the main character and completely understood where he was coming from although I think we hav...

I'm still in the beginning stages of reading this and so far, it is not disappointing. SRD is drawing me in nicely.

I've been reading the reviews on Goodreads and it seems that SRD fans give it 5 stars and non-fans give it 2-3 stars, even though they claim to know SRDs anti-hero formula.

In the movie Singing in the Rain, Jean Hagen who played silent screen star Lena Lamont, did her own singing. In the film, Lena Lamont could not sing so had to have her voice dubbed by Cathy Seldon (Debbie Reynolds). In reality, it was Hagen's voice, not Reynolds that was used for the dubbing for Lam...

Thanks for posting this, Ali. I just now found this thread. I have an idea for a book and have always had a hankering but just unsure of how to go about it.

But, let me ask, how is it working out for you? Are you having success with your self-publishing?

I wrote 'intellectual dirth ' and the damn auto-correct dumbed it down to 'dirty.' I'm getting dumbed down everywhere! Lol. Yes, social media MURDERATES my intellect! *notes that 'murderates' is not really a word. maybe using a non-word like that is the kind of attention-getting tactic I learned fro...

Thanks, Av! I've been in an intellectual dirty for so long that I hadn't realized I was in one. Then I read Fist's post in the Loresraat and realized that I've been dumbed down by social media. I need to come back to where the conversation is lively and interesting.

I think Tyrion had the message from Winterfell about Jon's parentage. Didn't Bran say that he needed to be told, as if time were of the essence? And Sam was right there and could have sent a raven to Tyrion. Maybe he was trying to stop Jon and Dany bit was too late. I don't think it's a love interes...

The Land as Covenant's body

I'm sure this has been discussed before and I haven't been to the Watch in a very long time, despite the fact that I have been lurking for the past several years so I may have missed it. So forgive me if I'm dredging up an old topic. I have always believed in the parallel of the Land being Covenant'...
