I'm almost done with my reread of TWW, but I just wanted to vent my annoyance with Elgart. Walking into the church for the third time and expecting it to go differently somehow? Really?! That was just beyond stupid.

Just like yesterday, I'm currently wondering where I'll find the concentration to get on my work. I keep distracting myself with stuff simply because it's better than having to translate these terrible texts. Deadline's tomorrow.

I'm reading The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin

Also, The Killing God appeared on my Kobo today, so I know what's next on the list! Oh wait, I'll probably reread the previous books first....

Doing a re-read of Seventh Decimate and the War Within in preparation for The Killing God release. I'm doing that as well as soon as the preordered book magically appears on my Kobo. Re-read Ann Leckie's The Raven Tower over the last few days and have now started Semiosis by Sue Burke. I hadn't hea...

Finished gardens of the moon and started on Hyperion by Dan Simmons. I’m probably give the 2nd malazan a chance but didn’t really like gotm. As others have said, Deadhouse Gates (and Memories of Ice after that) is a vast improvement. And the Hyperion Cantos...sheesh I cannot even remember how m...

Finished The Shattered Skies . I really hate it when it turns out the next and final book is still a year away. My memory is too bad for that! Anyway, I finished it right on the day that Tamsyn Muir's Nona the Ninth came out, so yay! Finally back to foul-mouthed necromancer lesbians...in spaaaaaace!

Currently on The Cruel Stars by John Birmingham. Finished this and went on to the sequel, The Shattered Skies . It's all good fun but not overly original. Several very familiar tropes and occasionally the rather lazy notion that hundreds (thousands?) of years into the future, people will still be r...

I reread Gideon the Ninth and am halfway my reread of Harrow the Ninth , trying to make sense of it... again! Edit:...aha, I made sense of it, again I guess! Marvellous book, although it can be a bit frustrating at times when you've no idea WTF is going on (just like the characters  ). [spoiler...

I've now finished the ninth book in Stross' The Laundry Files series and am done with it for a while. I really like these books and the way he keeps integrating elements from previous installments. Also enjoyed recognizing the offhand nerdy references to games and stuff...but what does that say abou...

I just started another game of Xcom 2: War of the Chosen.

I'm a casual gamer at best but keep coming back to this one, it's so much fun. Trying out some new mods as well.
