(late to the party, sorry) Mostly, though, the whole thing with Heboric and Fener. Always confused me a bit, but let me see if I've got this straight. The ritual severing of hands is a punishment for those who betray the Reve. The hands are sent to Fener (in his warren? Did her have a warren?), who ...

I'm considering going through the Canal tunnel to a gig in London of one of my favourite bands, Frost*. They're playing with It Bites in December. Might as well make a weekend out of it. Only about a six hour drive.

Doing my final work-related stuff before vacation in the evening whilst enjoying a glass (or 5) of wine. Playing Blacj Country Communion loudly in the background. Packing tomorrow.

Bah. It was eight years old. Anyhow, tonight I'll be starting a book I only bought two years ago - Kraken by China Miéville. I'm still working on that one (sooo slow compared to all you guys/gals). Loving it. I just like the things Miéville manages to come up with and his sense of humour. Also, (no...

E-reading Kraken by Miéville.

I also started listening to The Mote in God's Eye last week, but I've put it away again. I found the narrators voice rather annoying. Maybe I should give it another chance.

Still listening to The Prefect by Reynolds and about 3/4 in. It's OK so far, the usual hard scifi big ideas, but one of the main story threads failed to keep my attention much. Unfortunately I just hit a plot point that was so annoyingly stupid that I was glad I arrived at work. Hopefully it will re...

Currently immersed in Flying Colors, the new supergroup consisting of Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Steve Morse, Dave LaRue and Casey McPherson. Very diverse, proggy stuff. Excellent!

Listening to The Prefect By Alistair Reynolds, narrated by John Lee. I'm convinced that many years from now, everyone will be speaking with a slight Irish accent.

wish i had seen the Roth/Vai/Sheehan (no idea the drummer) tour. I actually did back in 1988, at the Monsters of Rock festival here in the Netherlands. One of the things I like about Vai is the way he approaches his musical ideas. These vids are nice examples: Explains how the main riff of Building...

Finished my reread of This Day All Gods Die ...what a ride. I'll probably reread these again one day. And again. By the way, this was the e-book version, and the amount of scan mistakes was terrible. "Director Donner" became "Director Dormer" a lot, "we'll" became "...
