Re: Lord of the Rings - Rings of Power

I just watched the first episode of the new Amazon series Rings of Power. There's only one word to describe my initial experience: uninteresting. I have hope it develops into something watchable. I agree - 1 episode in, and I don't care. Trying to be patient, but there's just so much other stuff I'...

My wife and I tried this series several years ago, but for some reason we didn't stick with it - and neither of us remembers why. We've been home this week with Covid. Two and a half years into the pandemic, and it's amazing that we avoided this bitch of a virus so far, especially considering our pr...

House of the Dragon

With the final season of GoT ending so badly, and since it appears GRRM won't be releasing TWOW any time soon (if ever,) it's great to have a new series based off of Fire and Blood. I thought the first episode looked great. It seems HBO is sparing no expense. There's a good setup for the Dance of Dr...

This past Tuesday, I was at the event in Nashville at which Alex made an appearance. In the short Q&A session, he said he and Geddy started rehearsing "a couple of months" before the South Park event. Also, they will be appearing at the upcoming tribute concerts for Taylor Hawkins, and...

Alex and Geddy joined Matt Stone (one of the creators of South Park) and Primus at Red Rocks for the 25th anniversary of South Park.

This will be broadcast in full on Comedy Central on August 13th.

The Sandman

We watched (iow binged) the first season this past weekend. I haven't read the 1980s comics, but I've heard over the years they're considered to be some on the best from that time period. We greatly enjoyed this first season.

Anyone else watching?

Events? Covenant had decided on the beard strategy to discover whether the Land was a dream or was real. But he didn't follow through. He shaved his beard to show that his commitment to Elena superseded his need to resolve his dream/reality issues. "I've made another deal - like the one I made...

Episode 5 was absolutely amazing! I didn't think I'd love any series more than "The Mandalorian" but wow, this show is so freaking good!

Agree, the young actress who is playing Leia seems too young, but she is 10 years old.

From his wife: "My heart has joined the Thousands, for my friend stopped running today." -- from the book Watership Down by Richard Adams. My beloved husband, Michael Miller, said he wanted this quote posted on his wall when he passed. There is more to say, of course, but all in good time...

We saw it, and liked it also.

I would describe it as close to being a horror movie as Disney can go, and I'm OK with that.

Wanda was freaking awesome. I was reminded of the Green Lantern "Emerald Twilight" series from the late 80s.

The opening voiceover was so similar to Rorschach's from Watchmen it took time for me to become invested in the story.
You're right, I didn't notice that.

I've thought for years this film is underrated, so I'm interested in going if it's near to me.
