"The quellvisk were a species of sentient herbivores that Foul corrupted into hideous monsters..." So were they the Land's equivalent of dinosaurs? Dinosaurs...maybe, but the time-frame is a lot shorter than 65 million years, which is how far back we'd have to go to find dinosaurs roaming...

 I sure hope SRD plans to fix this in the next book! Fix what? For Linden it's the same old same old. For Covenant, it's the ring he married Joan with. Instrument of the same union his ring symbolizes. I'm satisfied that TC would be the "rightful" weilder of either of the two rings.

Map of the Earth?

I'm new here, just wondering if there is a fan-created map of Donaldson's Earth anywhere out there. Not just the Land, but the other places that have been visited or mentioned in the Chronicles.

I loved AATE. Parts of it dragged, but not as badly as some parts of Runes or even White Gold Wielder (the painfully long journey back to the Land). As for She Who Must Not Be Named, there were mentions of other banes buried beneath Mount Thunder even in the first book of the first series. I remembe...

I can't wait to read the final chapter from Covenant's, Berek Halfhand & Lord Foul's shifting POVs as all three parts of the same personality are shouting at each other before they are finally re-merged by a sudden flood of wild magic into one being who in the end turns out to be author Stephen...

My recollection has it that the Elohim placed the bones there. No reason was given as to why that particular location out of all the Earth. I just assumed they dumped the quellvisk bones as close to Foul's Creche as they cared to get. Kind of as a message to Foul - don't mess with us again. Who kno...

Kevin had full mastery of the Seven Wards, yet Foul surpassed him and he knew he couldn't win against him, hence Desecration.

The Word of Forbidding is something that Mhoram was familiar with, so it can't be part of the missing Wards.

Very often constructs in the TC books are for one purpose only, then vanish after their purpose is done. For example, the ur-Vile manacles they clapped on Esmer. Jeremiah's bone construct is similiar. It had one purpose, and one purpose only, and that was to allow him to escape his catatonia and fug...

Speaking of Infelice, one wonders why she doesn't just show up, say, "Hey, Linden, gimme the staff a second, and I'll get your son." Then when Linden gives it up, torches her. It's like, gosh. They are like the Joker. Yeah except Infelice isn't evil and she's not interested in killing Lin...

Remember, the Earth is NOT Lord Foul's creation. He was watching "over the shoulder" of the Creator, and corrupting the Earth by burying the banes in it, etc. but it's not his creation. He doesn't know everything about it. Those "milennia of frustration" as Foul traveled the Eart...

Just my opinion, but SRD's words rarely have the literal, obvious meaning. "You are the white gold" doesn't mean that Covenant is literally the ring, and the magic comes from inside him. "He and I are one" doesn't mean that Lord Foul and Thomas Covenant are one and the same being...

I've always thought The One Tree was my least favourite.. And not because of The Giants, or Linden, or the Elohim / worm / vain, but simply because it ended on such a bad note, with the failure of the Quest to get a branch off the One Tree. Imagine reading that and then having to wait years for the...

In my opinion the people of the Land probably invented the name "Lord Foul" to refer to the Lord who had betrayed them and the Council, that Lord being a-Jeroth. I think it's safe to say that a-Jeroth is Lord Foul's real name. "The Despiser" is probably also an invention of the L...
