I too was underwhelmed with the ending. Given that Foul (or so it appeared for much of the whole chronicles) was the master of manipulation I would have thought that the final confrontation would have been more fully expanded, particularly since TC's wrestle with despite was the whole crux of the s...

Z said No, on second thought, I take that back. It would have defeated the point of the story if some external force or wonder had remade the world. Maybe this is better: the epiphany--or at least Covenant's--should have happened at the beginning or middle of this Last Chronicles. Instead of three p...

Re: It's just a bloody book! Isn't it?

Is there anyone else like me who just read a damn good book and enjoyed it? I've honestly tried to follow some of the other threads on TLD and I'm beginning to feel very depressed. I haven't a clue what some of you are talking about - I have to keep looking up words "Jung" (didn't realise...

... weaken Kastennesen a bit so that TC could force him into the 'fain' without a fight
Actually, Infelice talked him down and into the Fain. I dont think TC had anything to do with it, did he?

I have to admit that, having looked at that section, it doesn't really hint at where Kevin got turned around. Certainly he was Power of Commanded to go to Foul. It does seem likely that he would need to be in the presence of the Stone and Foul to be so "mastered" and "consumed"....

Z, I'm with you too... TPTP and WGW both put me through the emotional wringer. Foamfollower died, fercrissakes. Covenant sacrificed himself, fercrissakes. God I wonder what you're going to make of the "epilogue". Have a double shot of bourbon ready... However, I don't think it's a money-g...

Chapter spoilers: All Lost Women I'm almost done. That should be a bitter-sweet realization of enjoying every word so much that I can't stop reading, while at the same time feeling the reluctance of not wanting it to end. Now I just want it to end. I want to put this series out of my misery. ... Th...

Did they restore the Laws of Death and Life? It seems to me that would be the thing to do, while fixing everything else. Maybe that's why there were no Dead in Andelain in the epilogue. I would assume the various Laws like Life, Death, etc were restored anew. But of course there is no mention of th...

Well, the Giants . Haruchai and Elohim left on the crumbling world as TC Linden and Jeremiah ascended on rainbows and clouds had their memories left intact when they were met again in the denoument. This means that they were restored intact with memories and (we assume) no other differences. They we...

Foul slapped him and he turned into a pulpy mass, dead. Also, he abruptly quit whining.

Battle of Soaring Woodhelvin would be great, especially to capture that horrid battle, but Giants and Griffins would be hard to do. I singled this part out because the discussion so far is interesting...the problems exist, but there are ways to deal with them. For instance, the Close scene seems ve...

I think it was that he is older and probably tired and just wanted to get it done. This is, I expect, closer to the truth. The simple fact is, the Last Chronicles should have been 5 books, not 4. Most of the criticisms people are putting forth in regards to TLD are problems of being "too short...

IQ, What I thought would be very cool would be to organize and film a LARP event re enacting Lord Mhoram's Victory or the Battle Of Soaring Woodheleven with dozens perhaps hundreds of participants getting to play parts. Something fairly easy to find an appropriate out door setting in a park etc. Ge...

Scene from TC

Ive been thinking this for awhile. its just a thought. What if we got a group together from the watch, decided on a scene or scenes, or maybe a "trailer" for one of the original books, and got together, and did it? I mean, aTOMiC has done some filming, and Im sure there are others here wit...

I, for one, disagree completely that the Chronicles is too "internal" to be made into a movie. Certainly Dune had that issue. If you read Dune , the majority of the story is internal dialog. (Maybe "internal monologue" is a more apt description.) Excising that internal dialog, n...
