Just wanted to say: I find Mordant's Need is easier to recommend to others (people who haven't read any SRD) than the Covenant books, because it's an inventive blend of fantasy, sci/fi, mystery, romance and horror with all likable protagonists, whereas I am less comfortable recommending the Covenant...

For me, it was funny when Geraden's rakish brother Stead arrived at Terisa's guest room in Domne convinced that he could seduce her even though he was recuperating from injuries recently given him by a jealous husband.

Master Gilbur is my least favorite character. What a brutal bully--and boringly predictable, too. Always reaching for his dagger when he encounters a situation he doesn't like.
