I actually finally wrapped this up a few days ago.
I don't know why I haven't posted about it yet ... just busy with other stuff I guess.

Yes, the series definitely ended with a very strong episode. I enjoyed it.
After being initially meh, I wound up being a fan.
Season 2 will have a lot to live up to.

I wouldn't call it an "arty" film. Sure, there's a lot of weird, but that comes from the science fiction.
Almost everything that happens is related tightly to the plot. It's really not too distant from Dr Strange
and the Multiverse of Madness.
