Marilyn Manson's "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" does it for me: I am so all-American, I'd sell you suicide I am totalitarian, I've got abortions in my eyes I hate the hater, I'd rape the raper I am the animal who will not be himself Fuck it, fuck it, fuck it, fuck it Hey victim, should I blac...

Since when did we start believing that Chronicles covers depicted characters and events from the books with total accuracy?

Okay, so it's a Staff of Law without runes. I can live with that.

Sea, I think Romeo just didn't tell you about the alternate painting of him that was deemed too risqué. You're a dedicated man, Romeo, going above and beyond the call of duty! I get it now: all the Last Chronicles covers are adhering to the strict design of a centrally posed figure. Shall we start m...

Sorry to hear Athena's kaput...but maybe it's for the best. It's really hard to justify the cost of film now. I can understand wanting to use Athena for special occasions - imagine everyone else at a party whipping out their cell phone cameras, and then you bring out a film SLR. Retro chic! :) Anway...

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt regarding shoveling snow: maybe he got suckered into doing it for someone else one time, so "once bitten, twice shy." On the other hand, you've got a first hand assessment of him, not me. So maybe he really is just a jerk. Ex-Marines or ex-cops or who...

Stevie, I'm thinking that poor guy will be dealing with the effects of concussion for a long time, unless he's really, really lucky.

CMJ, that's showing a lot of composure in an awkward situation. Me, I would've given the person the evil eye, cuz that's just the way I am.
Nope, I wouldn't last long in retail.

Anyway, I sincerely hope it's nothing more serious than bruises.

That sounds a lot like me...minus the boyfriend and WoW. But, yes, furniture is pretty low on my list of priorities right now. Sorry about your appetite problem, though. I'm way out of my depth on that. Oh well, I have started tidying up my place - spring cleaning and all that. I'm just dragging it ...

I agree with ali's advice. I think nothing stops people faster in their tracks than the realization that they have to pay for something. Of course, Vader, I can understand that you might not want to upset your colleagues. But since this appears to be seriously diminishing the quality of your home li...

I wouldn't argue either! The PS3 was certainly costly when it first came out. I opted for a standalone blu-ray player because, like you, I hadn't been much of a console gamer and so couldn't justify the expense of a PS3 just to watch movies. But the PS3 has dropped a lot in price, hasn't it? ...

I've more or less made my peace with THOOLAH. I'm no longer interested in going down that avenue of discussion (or argument). Not that I'm here to stop the rest of you, by any means. Book One of Mordant's Need (The Mirror of Her Dreams) is basically a huge setup for Book Two, while being ente...

That is a sublime, moving composition by Savor Dam. It speaks for many of us, I think.

I try to hold onto my memories of Furls, too. Even though it was just through chats - words on a computer screen - that I knew her.

Well, in that regard it sucks for me, because I have an early generation HDTV that doesn't have HDMI. It has only component video, which supports 1080i, so I can enjoy blu-ray, but doesn't support up-conversion, so I can't watch my DVDs even in "fake" high def. But, hey, it's not the end o...

Happy 325th, O Great Contrapuntal One! 8)

Last month I had downloaded Keith Jarrett's recording of the Well-Tempered Clavier but didn't get around to listening to it.
Looks like this weekend I'll be putting it on. :)
