What Do You Think Today?

As for the rest of your post...suffice it to say...it's complicated. :D 1) Google paywall premium thing: This is not really to affect the quality of the search results you receive, but more to make use of their "AI Assistant" for your search, your emails, your calendar etc. (Bing already o...

What Do You Think Today?

Forgive my obtuseness, but are you going so far back as the transition from white rule to some kind of nominal democracy in S.A. when you refer to regime change? I hadn't marked you as old enough to have been around for that momentous transition. In fairness my recollection of the dates of these si...

For a sufficient amount of WGD I will agree to pretend that the outrageous claim regarding the capabilities of the forum is true...

(Wait, do we have WGD anymore?)

LOL, to be fair, the only real reason is because of implied spoilers for RG, so it can go before, but it has to be read before Toll the Hounds.

What Do You Think Today?

Here's a question. Do governments in functional democracies answer to their people, or do the people answer to their governments? Answer seems pretty straightforward to me - that governments answer to the people. I don't know where you got that ridiculous idea from. :D As I have frequently argued b...

Opening KW files offline.

LOL, ok, I'm not a tablet user. :D What we need to do is establish the file type of the page you've downloaded. I found this: Select the file with a long tap and choose the Properties (i) icon or tap the Actions (:) icon at the end of the line and choose Properties from the context menu. The general...

Well, I'm starting with Night of Knives. :D I'll see how I go compared to how fast you manage to get through them before deciding about the others.

I do however agree about Crimson Guard, but it must be read after Reaper's Gale, not after Bonehunters.

Oh well, @SoulBiter has inspired me...I'm joining his Malazan read. :D Starting with Night of Knives because that's how I like to do it. :D

@Fist and Faith, for the record, this is the 8th time I'm reading it according to this thread. :P

Haha, I have literally been wondering what to read, and SB's post in the other thread convinced me. :D I'm in!

So how you doing it SB? Straight through the main 10 books, or diverging to the Esselmont books where relevant?

Let's see...since my last post, I finished Dark Prince, then read the 4 Rigante books by Gemmel, Sword in the Storm, Midnight Falcon, Ravenheart and Stormrider, then the 3 Troy Books, Lord of the Silver Bow, Shield of Thunder and Fall of Kings.

Now...I don't know what to read next. :D

It never seems to occur to these people that if we were to open up safe and effective routes of asylum application within the countries from which these people are coming, then they wouldn't need to make the dangerous trip across the world, and ultimately the English Channel, in the first place.
