RIP Taylor Hawkins

Yet another amazing rock drummer taken far too soon. Such a tragedy, apparently an overdose.

Loved this, thought it was great. Unfortunately I'd read to much prior to the release so new to expect the guest appearances. Wish I hadn't done that. Still, it was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to watching it again soon.

Nevermind.
I'll never watch that again.

The Batman

I was determined that I wasn't going to see this new version of Batman. I thought the casting of Pattinson was sheer lunacy, and I thought the Bale version of Batman was definitive and Nolan's films couldn't be exceeded. Then, my youngest daughter saw The Batman with a friend, and she told me that I...

Furthermore, some of the art comes from KW! I recognized many images from the album. Also, I recognized art created by Frostheart. I wonder if “Bridger” had permission to use the art in his videos? I saw no attribution within them, although he may include that elsewhere. Is “Bridger” a KW member? :?:

https://youtu.be/ir9tAWHqkGg A very well done review of the First Chronicles. The same reviewer also does the Second and Last. I’ve watched the first of these videos. Does anyone know where some of the art comes from? I recognize some but there are a couple of images of Covenant I’ve never seen bef...

I'm on episode 3 and it's OK so far. I haven't read the books; the sheer volume of this series has been daunting. If I like the show after the first season, I may start with the audiobooks.

I gotta say, the film was better than I thought it would be. I'm a huge fan of the SciFi channel miniseries from about 20 years ago, and this film is closer to that than the 1984 film (which is good.) I think casting Timothy Chalamet as a bad choice, otherwise casting is superb. The reviews have bee...

.. and here's what we ended up getting: https://www.allenmorrisart.com/products/illearth I like this collection of paintings from Morris a bit better than those he did for Lord Foul's Bain, but I still have a few issues with what he's produced here, too. I kinda like the one that I assume is Amok. ...

I feel like I'm doing a re-read at the moment, as my partner is reading the first chronicles for the first time. An opportunity to encounter it the first time, through the eyes of another - now that is pure joy. I have an acquaintance who is reading TC for the first time, and I"m enjoying her ...

I'm disappointed with this series. I'm also disappointed with Kang being the new Big Bad. Charisma of the actor aside, I don't see how he'll ever come up to the potential that we had with Thanos. Galactus or similar would be much better.

Always have, always will. It's a texture thing.

Last weekend, I tried a simple recipe for coq au vin. And yes, I left out the mushrooms.

Hate liver. I find it horribly bitter. I remember as a kid, my mother would try to get me to eat it by telling me it was something exotic, like giraffe liver or zebra liver. Didn't really work, as it still tasted horrible. Then she tried to tell my I could die if I didn't eat liver. I think she had...
