Marvel's Red Wolf

Post by Hashi Lebwohl »

Coming this December will be Red Wolf, a Native American superhero set in the Old West (1872, I think is the time frame).

I would have put him in the modern world but I am not the writer or publisher. *shrug* Of course, it's Marvel so every now and then time travel happens whether by science or by magic; thus, the possibility exists that he could be in a crossover.

Lot of talk around this title lately, unfortunately mainly because it's being written by a white man who is the subject of accusations of misogyny and harrassment...

(Apparently the only Native American working on the title is the cover artist?)

Hashi - there is currently a Red Wolf in the modern Marvel universe. he works with the Ranger's; a group set in the American Southwest.

did not see in the article how they are explaining this.

Battleworld will be how they're explaining it. There are multiple versions of the same character running around in canon in a few places post-Secret Wars.

Secret Wars? I thought those happened 30 years ago...unless they are happening or have happened again. Truthfully, I have no knowledge of modern comics. I linked the article because I thought it was interesting.

They used the name for a new event, where all the various Marvel alternate universes are mashed up into a single Battleworld, and after which bits of the variuos universes are being rolled into the main one. Mainly this just lets them reboot stuff and keep Miles Morales around after Ultimate Marvel ends.

I really liked the Weird World mini with Arkon from the recent Marvel Event. When I get back home I'll give it a proper review.
