I was up at 5am to be at work at 7am to help escort a bunch of women lawyers around the building for a special event. Then I worked 'til my usual quitting time, partly because we're still short-handed.
Which is to say that I'm here to check on things before heading off to bed...

Yeah, I feel ya. I've been getting in at 830, but with school back in sesh, traffic has gotten wrecked. I think I'mma push it back to 730, but I don't know if I could do earlier than that.

Haha, why not? Thread drift is, afterall, inevitable.
Early gets to be a habit. At my last job I had a 50km one way commute on a route that got mad traffic. I used to leave at 04h40 and be at work just after 05h00.
This feels like sleeping in in comparison, or would if not for the damn cat keeping me awake half the night.
What am I doing here? I'm avoiding writing a friggin tender that is due tomorrow and will keep me up half the night! Pure distraction - off to other areas of the Watch
Ha, sounds like my day yesterday. We decided on very short notice to submit a proposal (has to be in today).
Spent five and a half hours writing it (there were serious constraints), only for the boss to turn up 10 minutes before closing, and decide we'd missed the point of the proposal.
After 10 minutes of arguing, I told them I'd spent too long on it to be able to be objective anymore, and went home.
Well, it's Monday now. Damn, I wish it wasn't. Proposal went off fine eventually, (looks pretty good I'll admit), but only got out of here on Friday at 15h30, which sounds good, but is two hours later than usual.
I'm here taking a breather...which I was unable to do yesterday because things were so busy. It's reports season again for the marketing department, and one guy sent me info in a Word doc for creating 7 pivot charts in Excel...
