My local bakery calls their chocolate croissants pain au chocolat, and even though I know what it means, my brain's autotranslate circuit always wants me to ask for a Pain of Chocolate. Pretty sure that's a metal band, and if not, it should be.

I'd say I pronounce Pasta with more of an Ost, as in Ostrich. The examples you gave make me sound like I'm trying to fake an East Coast accent.

I don't think I've ever had a reason to say Zabaglione, but I'd probably say it phonetically. Zah-bag-leo-ny! It sounds like something a magician would say when pulling a rabbit out of a hat, so I'd probably say it with appropriate flair. (Google says it's more like Zobble-yoney, which isn't as much fun.)

Pasty is a fun word, especially since it has at least four different meanings that don't seem to be connected. I figured that one was likely a diminutive of Pastry, but I can't find any evidence to support that, and Pas-tee seems to be the correct way to pronounce it, though I probably would have said Paste-y if I hadn't looked it up.
