In the Gradual Interview, Stephen R Donaldson also never wrote: I never find it necessary to go into more detail than is needed to serve the plot. However I believe I imagined the Lord's chambers actually comprising seven identical levels, each containing quarters for fifteen lords for a total of one hundred and five (Though only the first level was ever used by the New Lords). Within the context of the narrative there is absolutely no reason to get into all of this extraneous detail unless it served a purpose of some import. Which it never did. *double shrug*
