Don't see this in the cinema!

This thread encompasses all and everything - and for any reason - that should not be seen in the cinema.

The first reason for inclusion here is the simple fact that a film is so bad it shouldn't be seen at all. Then there are films that just simply don't need to be seen in your local multiplex: you might just as well keep your hard earned in your pocket and catch them at home when they appear on Netflix or wherever. Also might be the films that are actually screwed up by seeing them in a cinema. We've all seen films in cinemas where concentration and attention is required only to have them f****d up by the clown with a mobile phone or the gaggle of schoolgirls behind you. (The Blair Witch was a classic example - people were so scared they had to reassure themselves by laughing and screwing around at the performance I saw.) Other films are so beautiful, so serene that they demand silence and aloneness to work their magic. So, for whatever reason (and please tell us) give us the films where the cinema is a no-no.

Don't know if this one will make the US but The Limehouse Golem can easily be seen at home. It has nothing that demands a cinema viewing about it and though a reasonable couple of hours entertainment, not one that is really worth shelling out for.

I'm going against the topic just a tad, but promise to give my suggestions.
My brief rant is about Alamo Drafthouse. I was very much in love with their concept of being serious about throwing people out who are disruptive. And I'm glad with that. But I am finding I should never order anything from them because their servers are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more disruptive than I generally find at the theater. But even having someone move in front of me during a movie takes me out of it for a bit, which often doesn't happen when I go to regular cinemas. So far, I've only seen movies there I've seen several times before, but recently when I saw Jaws there, they spoiled a really good part by giving me the bill and making me fret that I should take care of it.
Anyway, now that that is out of the way, and although I've not seen it, mother! looks like a movie you should not see at the cinema. That and anything too damn long, unless it is a beautiful show pony like Lord of the Rings movies. I still think back on The Fountain, and wished I had not seen that in the theater. It was lovely, but it was long, slow moving and got all end-of-2001-like. If I was at home, I may have done myself the favor of turning it off before it ruined itself, because it had something of a momentum going before it got all "arty." I can take slow moving, and I can take arty, but I'm having trouble doing both these days.

I'm the opposite there, because it feels like the presence of the servers keeps people on good behavior. It did bug me a little the first time with them scurrying about and whatnot, but they're pretty unobtrusive (at least at my location) - and I've never seen anyone on the phone or with a screaming baby. (I did miss a bit of the first movie I saw there because I was unfamiliar with their whole billing method and didn't want to risk committing a faux pas.)

Sci-fi movies and awesome action movies with epic effects should be seen in a cinema but everything else .. I'll catch it at home. Doesn't take that long before it's on the telly .. it seems these days.

TBH even some sci-fis and action movies can be easily enjoyed at home. Especially these days .. with 50" + TVs and surround sound .. all creature comforts available from home. Now we're living in the country - the nearest cinema is a couple of hours away - so a film has to be pretty alluring to warrant us to pack a Billy and head into town for .. but that's our reality and I wouldn't move back to the city just to catch flicks lol.
