I think Latin is like the coolest thing ever...language in general, but Latin just is the shizzle...I want to teach Latin, and my advisor just told me how I can! Yay! And then Docta Resinski assigned me the Requiem to translate! ( Di-es freakin' IRAE) Double yay! And we have an exam over the subjunctive tomorrow! I love the subjunctive! Super-duper-mega yay! (Gets over her Selphie moment)
Anyway, I just had to express my jubilation over having found something to do with my life....

I spent this afternoon translating "Vexilla regis" and "Pange lingua", which brought forth some surprises (John Mason Neale left out several stanzas of each when he translated the versions my church sings in English...)
I minored in classics, sort of.

Dum spiro, spero.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

How about a song? I once had a male friend who would apologize to me by playing his guitar and singing (usually sappy or funny songs) until I couldn't be angry or sad anymore.
And here is the dead thread. . Latin With Lyr.

That would require me to be able to actually sing and play guitar to you, which would require me to be in physical proximity to you.
Which would be creepy, 'cause girls have cooties
I think I have a very badly done track of me playing a very poor copy of a david bowie song. I don't have proper recording equipment, so it sounds like shit, and I had to record the voice and guitar seperately.
Would that do?
Or would you like me to open up my Emo Leper song and poetry book and post something?
