Do you like it better than the Buffy series? The storylines, characters? What are your thoughts on it?

It's great. Anything that falls from the Buffy tree is. I haven't watched enough of it to really comment on the characters, plot, etc., but it's great to know Cordelia's evolved from her old Buffy Cordelia self.

I thinks it's good to. But I don't get to watch it anymore. I'm too busy. :(

The show lacks only the wit of Oz and Xander. Other than that, it's Buffy's equal. Some great single episodes, and some great arcs. Great fights too. Angel and his son really kick some butt!!

And, holy cow, Cordelia has gone through some serious changes!

I'm the same as you Darth - it's great, but I don't get chance to watch it. I haven't seen it since Harmony showed up. But I always thought, good though it is, it would have been better if they'd stayed with the original premise. If you remember the first episode, Doyle talked about how just kicking ass isn't enough anymore. The idea was that Angel had to work himself into people's lives, get to know them, and find out for himself what they needed help with, in order to stop them being nameless, faceless sacks of blood that he would would one day feed on when the temptation became too much.

But no - they went the Buffy route of just twating everything in sight *sigh* As I said, I like it, but it could have been something so unique...

The muppet ep was awesome. I liked the original premise better as well, but frankly, I was just glad to be rid of Cordelia.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. I love Angel...and yes, I like it better than Buffy (Buffy herself always got on my nerves...)
Besides, Angel is hot. *grin*

Of *ahem* "twatting everything in sight"... To illustrate - whenever Darth starts going on about pie, several people want to twat him ;)

I thought it was a typo, and that you meant "swatting." Cultural difference at work here. I think I'll pm you. :haha:

Thanks for the PM, Fist 8O  So, to clarify (I'll re-use the summary I gave Claire earlier) - 1) an insulting term ie "Darth is a twat" ;) 2) hitting someone or something ie "I twatted Darth" 3) a slang term for juvenile, goofy behaviour ie "Stop twatting about, Darth"

All clear? :P

Hmm... yes, that word does have more than one meaning (i've seen/heard it used both ways many times).

[edit - although the www.britannica.com dictionary only gives one definition...]

Ooh, Darth puts his foot down! Not enjoying being twatted eh? ;) Haha, nothing personal, Darth, yours was just the first name that came to mind.

Anyway, Angel... Um... Well, I think they should have kept Doyle. I liked Doyle.
