Well, the Scot is now the reigning Wimbledon, U. S. Open, and Olympic men's champion.

Way to go, Andy. Now, will an Englishman win Wimbledon in the next 76 years? I don't know. 8)

Yep. Wasn't that a great match? I was surprised to see somewhere that more British players had won Wimbledon than any other nation! I suppose that was in the early years, not forgetting Virginia Wade in 1975 was it? Arthur Ashe won the men's title. I watched that live too. :D

Well played Andy. Surely he's not going to get a knighthood for it though?

Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps a CBE? I bet though he wins the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award this year. :D

It seems to go in waves. We've had the Connors/Mcenroe/Sampras/Billy Jean King/Navratilova/Evert years; then Cash/Hewitt/Goolagong; Borg/Edberg and now the emerging Balkan countries, but maybe now its Britain's turn.

Seems Novak wasn't quite on his game. But not to take anything away from Andy, good work. When he had triple match point and blew all 3, thought it could be big trouble if he loses that game. Good bounce back.

I really have no patience watching tennis anymore. I think the last match I watched was Federer's marathon semi win last year in the Olympics.

We're getting to the pointy end of the Australian Open! Federer has just beaten Murray in the Quarter finals. Murray has done well since returning from back surgery though. Djokovic beaten in the quarters...

So we have a Federer v Nadal Semi! Should be a great game.

And in the women's - go Li Na!

I think Federer will go on for ever! Murray is doing well considering his recent back op. Hopefully he will be back on form by the summer. :cross:

Why am I dragging up the tennis thread? Well, because an Aussie has just won the French Open of course :D

Congrats to 23 year-old Ash Barty for winning the women's singles final - first Aussie to win it for a while!

And in the mens, Rafael Nadal wins his 12th, yes 12th French Open!
