I love the original Star Trek series, love DS9, and love Voyager. I never really liked The Next Generation all that much, as I don't care much for the characters and do not feel that sense of "family" with the TNG cast, though I acknowledge that that show sometimes had some brilliant writing. I have no experience with watching Enterprise or Discovery.

Oh how different we each are ... I definitely saw family in TNG ... the core team were akin in closeness as the original Star Trek family.
Picard is the awesome dad, Worf the head strong son, Beverly Crusher the mum, Deanna Troi the sexy Uhura, was never a fan of hot head Riker. But still loved the show despite him lol

I am glad that you got to experience that sense of family with the Next Generation crew, but I simply could not. I agree with you that Riker isn't easy to put up with watching!Skyweir wrote:Oh how different we each are ... I just identified with the Sisko father-son family coming to Deep Space Nine to help the planet Bajor recover from being conquered by Cardassia, and just loved all the writing, the interesting long-term developments, and the stellar acting of Deep Space Nine.
Voyager had the chemistry between the cast members gelling very quickly, as quickly as the cast of the original series had done. And the feeling of them being the lone Federation vessel in that part of the galaxy reinforced this sense of mutual appreciation among the crew. Great show, and I'm glad that you appreciate it, too, Sky!
