I prefer the first book. So much goes on in that one castle. It's a little world into itself.
A little knowledge is still better than no knowledge.

That's part of it, but also I love that we get to spend more time in the outdoors, going through the countryside of Mordant.

Yeah, I did love that trip through the Cares, and all the things imagery had wrought. Wished it could have been longer/more.

That's why people prefer living in Cadwall.

... they don't have a Care in the world.

And the world doesn't care about them.

also, turns out Eremis would have kidnapped her regardless, so no real harm done.

Obviously Joyse's resurrection as it were has been great. Poor old Lebbick...I always feel for him, dying without knowing it had all been worthwhile.

Lebbick gets my vote for the most tragic figure in Mordant's Need...primarily because, as Av says, he never gets to know if all his efforts to save the King and his Kingdom have been worthwhile. Quite sad.

I've finally got this re-read of Mordant's Need done (I'm much slower than Avatar, obviously)! Now, it's on to reading Seventh Decimate, which has been sitting on my bookshelf for the past five months. :7up:

As I mentioned in another thread I have been slowly re-reading Mordant's Need. I will give my thoughts in a couple days in another thread.

**Spoiler**
I have to admit I remembered the ending differently in my mind. Somehow I totally jumbled the ending in my memory. For some reason I had remembered that Terisa and Geraden were going to be the future rulers.

I had remembered this passage as being about Terisa:
"...she hardly knew what to do with the fact that King Joyse had proclaimed her his heir and successor."

This part is that I really stuck out to me as being in my memory of why I thought it was Terisa "Her talents, he declared, were the ones Mordant would need most when he was gone."...."Privately, however, she found that she had a number of ideas about how Orison and Mordant should be ruled."

Well now I know it was all Torrent. So for the last twenty something years my memory had convinced me Terisa was the future ruler.

Not every person is going to understand you and that's okay. They have a right to their opinion and you have every right to ignore it.

I'm glad that you've gotten an MN accomplished, samrw3! I hope to do that as well within the next couple of years.
