Oddly enough, after conversing with dANdeLion just yesterday about this very subject we find in this morning's entertainment news that someone was actually trying to make a XANTH film a reality. Though I stopped following the XANTH story after the 6th (or was it 7th?) book, I was a true enough fan of the beginnings of the series. If the film explores the story that was laid down with A Spell For Chameleon and follows the adventures of Bink and his quest to find his magic talent, then I am onboard with the project. I suppose we'll see soon enough.

Geez....He's written 29 Xanth books so far? I read up to about book 15 before I gave up on the series because it got so cheesy. The older books up to at least Golem In The Gears are still quite good though, IMHO.
I wouldn't mind seeing Crewel Lye (Book 8 ) translated to the big screen if it was done well. That one was always one of my favorites and seems like it would be the most adaptable to movie format. The special effects and CGI technology available now would make it look amazing, especially stuff like Threnody's shape-changing and the monsters like the tarasque.

After seeing Van Helsing, I say, sure why not. Nothing else could be worse, and if that got made, everything deserves a chance. I'd have to agree that A Spell for Chamelion or Crewel Lye would be the best choices from the Xanth books.
Of all the Anthony books I've read, I'd have to say Shade of the Tree would make the best movie. However, I would love to see Bio of a Space Tyrant as a sci-fi show on Showtime or HBO.
