Our newest Watcher (as of this post) is santilozano. He is an artist in Columbia named Santiago Lozano. I told him about the Watch, and that it's a good time to join. (Since the upgrade now allows it.) I've seen his stuff for a couple years on a Malazan FB group. He's got some amazing stuff! (Luci, I don't know if you go to Malazan Empire these days.) Blows all of us away, time after time!

TCTC has been his favorite for some years (I think Malazan has recently edged it out?), and he has some marvelous creations for us.

I've commissioned two things from him. One is this first picture, Amok and the Ranyhyn
Image
The Ranyhyn were eager for a run after long days of constricted climbing, and they cantered out onto the flat rock. With surprising fleetness, Amok kept ahead of them. He laughed as he ran, and even increased his pace. The Ranyhyn stretched into full stride, began to gallop in earnest, leaving Covenant’s mustang behind. But still Amok’s prancing step outran them. Gaily he led the riders east and then south down the center of the plateau.

Another of his Covenant works is Coercri

And there's "Oh, Andelain, forgive!"

My other commission from Earthsea. Re Albi

Thank you so much! Happy to be here, and hopefully I will be sharing more fan artwork for the series. As Fist and Faith mentions, I am also open for commissions.

Welcome to the Watch. Hopefully our new platform will soon include Galleries, as our former site did.

May you thrive here and contribute.

As a matter of fact, it already does. :D Top right next to your user name. Haven't moved the pics over yet, waiting on Vain to see if we can, or can easily anyway...

Are these NFTs?

Oh, I am so glad the gallery is back. So many images are lost on those photo upload sites.

KevinsWatch should have, and deserves, the greatest collection of Donaldson-related images on the net.

Sorry, not sure I understand, so don't know if I get the joke. But my commissioned file is much bigger than these, if that's what you mean. So I'll be able to print big stuff for my wall. 😁

Not to worry. But: NFTs, explained
I bet santilozano knows what they are.

Interestingly enough, I had stumbled upon that Coercri piece a few weeks ago, completely independently. It's admirable.

But I am most intrigued by the Amok piece. Of all the scenes in all the books, that is a very interesting one to pick. I sense happiness in this.

It had been circulating on some fb groups. Yes, it's amazing.

Exactly who I chose it. Lots of darkness in TCTC. Amok is the most unrelentingly happy character of all, and this moment of joy as he teases the Ranyhyn by outrunning them is Golden.

These are not NFTs. They ARE digital art, but they are delivered as high resolution files for printing out at large sizes. Around 30x40 inches. :)

That's awesome.

Another artist who used to hang out around here (Frostheart Grueburn) sent me a high-res so I could print it and frame it. It came out pretty awesome. I had it hanging in my office until I changed jobs and now I don't have an office just a desk in the middle of a room.

You can still see some of her stuff at http://covenant.sagazorm.net/. The one I had framed was "The Last Dark Cartoon".

If any of you are interested in the rest of my fantasy artwork (which includes Malazan, Amber, Fionavar, Wheel of Time, Jhereg, Magician and others), check out my online portfolio. Most of the works including "Coercri" are available thru the site as prints on paper, canvas and metal.
