Or tell something that's good news,The bad news is we broke like 2 cups in 2 or 3 days, one of which I kinda will miss.
The good news is my kiddo is learning - in practice - how to deal with the world's imperfections without flipping out. I'd sacrifice a lot of mugs for that!
and then add the oh-so-typical ironic, "but the bad news is..."
The good news is that I think I saw my older son's sense of justice awakened a week back when he said, "Paul didn't get to hug dad, so it's right that he should get that!"
Of course, the bad news is that I let him, and now, every time that baby wakens to even half consciousness, he requests "hug..." "dad..." "wan'..." and tries to fight off his sleep.
