There's no doubt Davies is one confused kid. One of those points of confusion is his biological reaction to the sight of Morn, for which SRD has used (and I think coined) a somewhat unique description. What is it?

This is a nice challenging question, IrrationalSanity!
I've been thinking for days about the solution to this quiz question and feel no closer to it! :!:
I'll think on it some more and may do the "text-research" approach in about a week's time, if no one else guesses it by then. :read:

That's quite alright. It has been quite a while since I read the books. I'm also relying on my somewhat nebulous memory, so I might be remembering it wrong, too. (Note, for this reason, unlike my normal MO, there is NOT a hint embedded in this message).

IS, I haven't found the unique descrription of Davies' confusion when looking at Morn anywhere in the relevant Forbidden Knowledge chapters, but am not giving up, yet.

I will start scouring the A Dark & Hungry God Arises chapters to see if I can find it. 8O

I have this fear that I'm conflating things again, since I came up with the question from memory. I haven't read the books in a while, and I don't have access to a set to cross-reference. If you don't find anything soon, I'll give you what I am thinking, and let you have the question for your efforts.

Thank you, Sanity, that is much appreciated! I've had to postpone "scouring the A Dark & Hungry God Arises chapters" lately, but will try to get back to doing that in the next three days.

Well, IrrationalSanity, I have now checked all three Davies chapters in A Dark & Hungry God Arises, and have not found any reference to a Donaldson-created word that describes how Davies feels when he looks at Morn. I admit to being stumped.

...But there's still nine more Davies chapters in Chaos and Order, and five more Davies chapters in This Day All Gods Die. Hmmmm...might be giving up too quickly. :!:

No problem. I'll throw in the towel on this, as I'm ever more convinced that my mind transposed it from another place. (Though if so, I'm 99.97% sure it came from Mordant's Need - you maybe could get extra credit for telling me where in that work it came from... :D ). The term I was looking for was making his "throat ache". It isn't a made up word, but a phrase that I've never encountered outside of SRD's work.

Hmmm, that sounds familiar...for some reason I associate it with Angus though, not Davies...definitely from the Gap though.

Like I said, I've created enough self-doubt that I'm just going to reward Cord Hurn with the win for his efforts in searching. It is also possible that it is a term SRD likes, and has used in both universes.

Correct!! Nick told Morn he went to Enablement Station previously to test the anti-mutagen drug for Hashi Lebwohl!

LOL, not yet, (I can't believe how long this is taking) but I do have a question for you...

Why did Hashi claim to have reqqed Milos Taverner, and why did he actually req him?

:D

I think Hashi claimed to req Milos because Milos has extensive familiarity with Angus. The second part of your question I don't know, and must give it some more thought.
