Hamilton (the Musical)
I didn't see a topic about the musical anywhere.
And it didn't seem like it should go in Vespers, at least I didn't see any other musical there after a checking the first several pages (lots of RIP posts though which is depressing).
Anyway, I finally saw Hamilton this weekend and it was really really good.
I'm a big fan of American history and I remember seeing something on TV many years ago, it was Miranda and Obama talking about it a several months before the debut and thinking "How the hell are they going to make Hamilton's life story interesting?"
When it first came out my kids were listening to the soundtrack constantly and I liked it then too.
As I was sitting and watching it in the theater Sat night, I was laughing several times, not at the show, but at the amazing historical accuracy of everything said and done on stage.
I know it's been out a while but if you haven't seen it, try to check it out.

Ha, shall I made a new forum for Musicals and make you the Mod, HLT?
I never saw Hamilton live, but during the mist of the pandemic I was introduced to it while watching it on Disney+, and me and my wife have been hooked on the soundtrack ever since. Got us through a few months of the pandemic.
Awesome soundtrack. I'll still play it randomly.

I'll be that Mod if you want.
I don't see too many musicals or theater performances (maybe 2 or 3 a year) but I'll do my best to keep the forum active.
My two kids performed in every musical and theater performance that was put on in both middle and high-school so they can back me up if I have questions.
Speaking of my kids, my daughter pointed out to me that there was one part of the show that Disney edited out.
Hamilton called Adams a fat motherfucker at the end of a anti-Adams rant.
It was perfect and hysterically when done on stage.
I literally laughed out loud along with the audience.
I thought that some of the songs I heard live were different or missing from the soundtrack and a bootleg video that I downloaded year ago.
Here's a link I found with songs that have been dropped over the years:

Here's another youtube vid with behind the scenes info that I never noticed

By coincidence a girl I work with - not a history buff or academically minded in any way - was singing the praises of this musical to me the other night.
She's a recent school leaver who has come into retail, but suddenly knew more about this period and individual from American history than I did following a lifetimes reading. She was able to explain who Hamilton was and what he did down to a tee.
More power to any production than can pull off an educational feat like this - getting information and understanding into a kid's head without their even realising that they are being educated.

I don't see many musicals at all (much less live), but I do enjoy them.
I think the last musical I saw oddly enough was back around 2005 with a bunch of Watchers to see Spamalot in DC at the Kennedy Center?
Hamilton was good though. The soundtrack got my family through many lonely days of the pandemic.
And I learned that my wife has a hard crush on Leslie Odom Jr.

Hamilton (the Musical)
I have heard excellent reviews from peeps who’ve seen it. I haven’t but know an amazingly talented young woman who’s in it down under, she’s got amazing pipes as Angelica.
keep smiling

I never saw Hamilton live, but we watched it when it was streamed on Disney +.
Keep in mind that it historical features are not strictly accurate.

We've enjoyed the Disney+ version, and I gotta say, the book by Chernow is outstanding.
