Opa!

I actually honeymooned in Greece recently (last October). It was the end of the tourist season and we were on Mykonos. It felt like I was in exile. No tourists, and very little was open. Unfortunately neither I nor my wife really enjoyed it :( Damn travel agent!
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. I think they should trade for Benitez. They'd still lose, but at least they'd have a closer!

I'd like to say that the Sox are off to a good start, but 4 wins are against the Tigers. Also getting swept by K.C., of all teams, isn't good. :?

Damelon, four wins against the Tigers is NOT impressive!
They are really pitiful this year (as usual). :(

Actually I heard on the radio the other morning that the Tigers have set a new major league record. :D
No other team in major league history has lost so many games at the beginning of the season for two years in a row. :D
When you're a Tigers fan you accept any victory you can get!

And you eat a lot of flaming cheese.

They have saganaki at our Greektown too. I like stopping at Roditys on the way to or from a Hawks or Sox game. Opa! 8)

Anybody think that Randy Johnson, Schilling, or Greg Maddox are done? Are they washed up? Or are their troubles going to end quickly.

The Diamondbacks are in serious trouble already.

I love Greg Maddux! Probably the greatest control pitcher of our time...he'll be back by, at least, the All-Star break to his usual self.

Shit! Schilling and Maddux comprise 2/3rds of my fantasy league pitching staff (the other 1/3rd is Buehrle). What a time for them to come out of the gates slowly. Alas, I have faith in them. Schilling just had an appendectomy and should miss his next start but he'll be back as strong as ever. Maddux has always relied on his pinpoint control instead of overpowering people and now that control isn't quite there. When your not throwing 96MPH even a small mistake can generate some bad results (i.e. homeruns). Maddux will get himself in order...he's a smart guy and he's been doing it for to long...He'll be back.

P.S.

Red Sox are starting to look pretty good. The pen's back and functioning and this OBP stuff seems to have some merit judging by the run totals their putting up! I think this might be the year!!!! 8O

Pedro's gotta stay healthy. Bill James can't do anything about that. But they're looking good.

Among other things Mick...among other things.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope beyond hope. Hey, If the Pats can win a Superbowl than anything can happen!

I confess that I'm puzzled by the Cubs being in first place in the NL Central. I wasn't sure that Dusty would have that much influence. However it's still only May. If they are competitive in late August then maybe I'll think otherwise, but until then they are still the old Cubs.
