Ok, now I am excited. As some of you know, I was having second thoughts about bothering to read Runes immediately, but the discovery that we're going to see Kevin and the Bloodguard has brought back to me the feeling I had the first time I read the First Chronicles (specifically the Illearth War). Oh, to have that feeling again! But how will I tolerate the wait between books?

Oh!! I forgot until I was just reminded by another thread. At one point, SRD said, "OK, I have a poll for all of you." I said, "Hey! We're really into that!" Can you imagine????
So he wanted to know if it was "the wild magic that destroys peace" or "the wild magic which destroys peace." A few of us thought it was that, and we were correct, as VF and SQ confirmed with different quotes. I just thought it was hilarious that he polled us!
Seems his editor wanted him to change that to which, mistakenly thinking that's what it always was. Why on Earth the publisher didn't hire us to edit these books is beyond me!

Nice.
Spoiler
Kevin in the flesh. Fascinating. For a while I've been suspecting another evil besides Foul would be in a future Covenant novel, but I didn't consider that the Despiser would use them to his advantage.
I wonder if these evils are from or beyond the Land? This book is going to kick some serious ass. I'm pretty excited.

That's not a poll question, that's a grammer quiz!Fist and Faith wrote:At one point, SRD said, "OK, I have a poll for all of you." ... So he wanted to know if it was "the wild magic that destroys peace" or "the wild magic which destroys peace."

See -> andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Writing/t.html#that
(And notice the answer that this article says is correct!)

Shoot! Somebody help me here! SRD also did Agent Maxwell Smart, but I can't remember what he said. It wasn't "That's the second biggest X I've ever seen!" What the heck did he say??? Man, once you hit 40, your memory's for crap!

I just stumbled into this thread (still trying to catch up on the stuff that went on while I was gone).
Thanks again to Danlo for coming up with the idea of Elohimfest, and for making it come true.
I think one of many interesting answers that SRD gave (of the many, many) was the one about Elena.
I was fascinated by the fact that SRD likes to surround himself with a bubble of sound when he writes...helps him get into his zone. He blasts opera and sometimes sings along...
Another great answer was the one about his least favorite word in the world. But I will let you all experience that one in the video.
SRD was a fantastic speaker, and was amazingly open and honest. I will always treasure the memory of that night. Thanks again to Danlo.

Spoiler
Fist asked why the other Lords made her the High Lord. SRD answered that, just as her father, she had the potential to do great earth changing things, for either good or ill. That potential is why she was chosen as the High Lord. That potential was also seen by the Ranyhyn and that was why they took her alone, of all humans, to a horse rite, as they wanted to influence that potential. It also sounded as if the Elena issues would also be addressed in Runes, IIRC

Here's a thought....burn it on a cd (or DVD), then let Watchmembers buy it...I would gladly pay for it, including shipping. My internet connection is much too slow for streaming, and given the length of the interview, a file of that size would take forever to download. However, there may be some issues with SRD, since the contents of the interview are his intellectual property.
