I like her stuff and now she's gone to the great retired muso hole in the sky (or something like that)

Doesn't want to be famous anymore either apparently :?

I only knew one of her songs, "Nothing Compares To You".
She had amazing eyes though.

That's too bad -- I also knew only that one song, but she did seem to have a lovely voice. :?
Love as thou wilt.

song written by Prince, btw
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Yes, it's on one of his greatest hits albums. I have his version, but not hers and I think she had the much more popular rendition of it. :?

Ah, I wondered why she didn't appear with Massive Attack when I saw them the other week. She sang two songs on their new album. She was never really comfortable with her fame though, so it's hardly surprising that she's gone all Kate Bush.

She did a really beautiful song called "Irish ways and Irish laws" (I think).
"If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do."
