heh ... ..it would be funny if not for the evil hacker dudes who caused the date changes!!
but .. life goes on .. as for slow .. where are the posters who are expected to keep this discussion up to date!! .. since we were hacked it seems many have lost their way home ..
Perhaps we should talk sex .. now there's a topic that generally draws some attention .. but with discretion ..
Sex in the Gap was about domination and control .. it was used to subdue anothers will to .. well .. Angus' and Nicks will ..
Yet SRD draws a deeper affection from Angus to Morn .. was Nick capable of such depth? Is this deeper affection something to be lauded? I still haven't finished the series .. .. even though a fellow watchman sent me the 4th book .. .. I not having it .. began a few other projects ..
So folks .. what's your take on the sexuality component in SRD's the Gap ..
in a respectable forum as this .. where discussions become lewd or offensive some posts regrettably may be deleted ..

thats linked somewhere here is it? I remember scanning over one of her critiques .. I'd be interested in reading this one.
Can you summise your reasons for stating SRD's failed Nick/Morn/Angus triangle thing? I find that very interesting. Do you think a great component of their involvement in the triangle was superlative and excessive by nature to the guts of the story?

I agree with most of Gavrielle's essay.
Basically, I don't buy Nick's fall from respect and I don't buy Angus' "redemption" in the eyes of Morn. SRD goes out of his way to make Nick and Angus switch places but the actions in the book don't support this switch. There's not enough meat in the story to justify Nick going from good to bad and Angus going from bad to good. SRD wanted this switch to occur but he doesn't pull it off in a believable fashion - he forces the issue, IMHO.

does Nick really go from good to bad??
he was an outlaw .. a lucky one at that!
He never struck me as ever being a goody as such .. You are right about Angus though .. I absolutely agree with you on that .. it is difficult to imagine him gaining redemption .. but sad nevertheless .. because in real life woman all over the world [unsoundly] forgive and accept men that grossly mistreat them. It reflects more deeply on Morn's persona than Angus' imo.
just a thought.

yes, but in turn both Nick and Angus had been badly mistreated by women, hadn't they?
