A work in progress

Post by Incognito »

For some reason, I've recently been taking my idea cues from inspiring song lyrics. Both the first two parts of this started that way, though the third (still half-written) didn't. The second part of this is much better written and conceived than the first (though I make no pretence to it being anything remarkable) since the first part was just me knocking an idea around with no particular aim in mind. The first part needs to be included, however, since it introduces some recurring themes.

So:

Ok, next up. This one is longer, unfinished, and more...something. The word eludes me. It hints at things to come (and long gone) but I'm not sure it gels that well as a whole. Still, nothing will be achieved by leaving any of this on my hard disc, so I'll post it. Incidentally, it's worth noting for the benefit of anyone who doesn't live in my head that this follows directly from Part 1:

I haven't read this at all, I just wrote it and posted it, so it may be brimming with typos for all I know. It wraps the story up for now. I can feel so much more that needs to be told - the significance of some things, the enormous chunks of the past I've papered over... But I serve the story and the story is resting. So:
