I read my share of bodice rippers in college. All the plots are the same -- boy meets girl, boy rapes girl, girl decides she's in love with boy.... I read the Gap books and found the multiple violations a little tough to take. So I haven't read them again. But Lena's rape didn't really affect me all that much. (Maybe because I'd already read all those bodice rippers!
