Gambling WGD, what will happen in the next book?

Post by Steve Hurtloam »

Before the betting begin, what would be good bets?

Longshots, sure things?

NOM coming back... longshot?

Use of the Krill... longshot?

Thomas Covenant is truly alive?

Mahdoubt is Hile Troy's mom?

It could be fun, it could be frowned upon, but it's something to think about.

My order of decreasing probablity:
TC alive
Seeing Nom again
Krill slicing and dicing
Mahdoubt as Troy's mom (good one)

How about this:
Love triangle between TC,Linden, and Liand

Don't know about the rest, but I think you might be onto something with Liand. His devotion to her is far greater in scope that hers to him and I'd expect to see him viewing TC as a direct rival and threat for her affections.

This could also happen with Jeremiah who, whilst not really "there", has nonetheless had Linden to himself. Now he will/may be sharing with TC and Liand who will be drawing on her affections.

I can't see a rival between TC and Liand...people from Mithil Stowndown have a tendancy to put outsiders on a pedistal (Lena to TC/Sunder to TC and LA)-I think one reason why SRD made Liand younger, is that there will be no feelings towards Linden-other than a huge amount of respect.

Well, I don't know about that.... after reading the soap (and laughing hysterically!) I am thinking that ol' Liand will be flexing his muscles and trying to score some extracurricular activity with the good doctor. Who knows, he might be "stiff" competition for the wielder of Damelon's Codpiece!

Damelon's Codpiece...now THAT'd be an odd artifact to quest for.

I can just imagine that now...

"With Damelon's codpiece and Loric's krill, Liand finally found the strength to defend the Land..."

Ew...awful mental images...

In any case, Liand seems to kind of have a thing for Pahni, so I don't know...

I will work it in just for you. I am not even close to all the possible 1 on 1 combinations yet  and if I sink low enough I can get the group thing going  but I don't think that this is the right forum for that

Let's see... my guesses as to what we can expect from Fatal Revenant...

The story will still be told from Linden's POV to prevent us from figuring out if this is the REAL TC...

Linden and her party will embark upon a quest to Andelain and Mount Thunder, believing the Despiser to be in Kiril Threndor. They will not make it for some reason.

The Demondim will not fight Linden and her party in this book.

The Masters will suffer further defeats, and will renounce their Mastery because they will believe that they have failed.

Mahrtiir will die.

Do I sound like Jeanne Dixon? What fun! I'll bet that my predictions will be better than hers, and THAT's without any psychic powers at all!

Most all of what you say makes perfect sense, except for one thing...

We still have that book, and two others to go.

We need the start of some long, arcing quest that takes them away from the main goal of confronting Foul.

I still say that it will involve a quest to stop Joan, since she will be the easiest to stop. They will look for her in the Sarengrave area, and be pestered by Elohim at ever turn. Linden will not know wether to trust TC or not, and Jeramiah will start showing signs that he might not be trustable either.
As for conclusions and confrontations, only the king (SRD) knows that! And I'm sure that he will not dissapoint.

Mahrtiir will die.
Ya think? With a name like that?

I predict he'll die, and his name will be forever linked to someone who sacrifices himself for a noble cause.

Oh, wait.
:D
