'Cause the ol' Metal-Demon will soon be on his way there! :twisted:

I purchased my round-trip ticket to Brisbane today, and I'll be arriving there on April 30th! I'll be staying with my lovely girlfriend and visiting various parts of Queensland until May 16th.

This will be the very first time I have ever left the "North" of North America ...

Watch out girl: that almost sounds like Neil Diamond-now we don't want to sound too geeky or old just yet... :P ...(but the fact that I actually know these lyrics has got me feeling , kinda, arthritic... :-| )

Well, WELCOME when you get here. We're not in QLD, we're down in Victoria, but hope you have lots of fun. Try and get up to Palm Cove, near Cairns, or the Daintree Rainforest, and if you can't get up that far, visit Coffs Harbour. The beaches are beautiful. Have a great holiday!

I'm actually going to try and avoid any beaches ... just not my style, and as far as I'm concerned they aren't very interesting to begin with.

It's the "out-of-the-way" areas I want to see - get a taste of what Australia's really about ... frankly, I make a horrible "tourist", but consider myself an damn good "interested visitor". Does that make any sense?

Anyway ... it should be a great deal of fun, but even though I'll be in Australia, that will be greatly overshadowed by the simple fact that I'll be able to spend time with my wonderful girlfriend, Lisa.

If I get a chance, I'm going to see about getting a tattoo while in Brisbane, and hopefully I'll get a line on a few job opportunities in the Machining industry. Then I might be able to move there for awhile ... :D

Have fun in Australia!! I would absolutely love to go; I have a very good friend who lives in Melbourne. I'm sure it will be beautiful! (Oh, and they have REALLY good wines!!)
