Did Nicolas Cage ever win an Oscar?
So my wife and I were watching The Family Man last night and we were trying to remember if he had ever won an Oscar. I could have sworn he got one for Leaving Las Vegas, though maybe it was Elisabeth Shue that won for that movie.
IMDB mentions that he was nominated for Adaptation but I don't see that he ever actually won.
Anyone know for sure?

He won a Golden Globe too, I think. I loved him in Raising Arizona, Birdy, and Guarding Tess.

Not a big fan of his, but he was good in National Treasure. I don't think he fits every role he was cast in, but there are some where he's perfect.

I liked Cage in Moonstuck, Raising Arizona, Captian Corelli's Mandolin, City of Angels (killer soundtrack)Wild at Heart (Lynch), Red Rock West and for the fluff stuff prob ConAir more than Face Off or The Rock. Although Steve Bushemi and John Malkovitch stole the show in the former. I also liked his early stuff with minor roles in such film as Fast Times at Ridgemont High and one of my fav movies: Rumble Fish, but again the supporting cast was great; Chris Penn, Matt Dillion, Dennis Hopper and, my man, Mickey Rourke--gee I wonder how he got cast in that movie? Maybe cause the director was uncle Francis (Ford Copolla?)
?

Don't forget Bringing Out the Dead. He was Oscar-quality in that. Also excellent in Windtalkers, along with Adam Beach and Christian Slater. Cage was one of the sexiest men I ever saw in that one scene of City of Angels.
I agree, Danlo, Con Air is one of my favorite action movies. Yes, that was one huge planeload of hair-raising performances, but Cage has never looked better.
