Of all the English dubs I've heard, I'd say "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" is the best one I've come across. When I first saw it, I actually thought it was made in America--that it was in English to begin with!
Of course, Leone's other westerns, especially "Once Upon A Time in the West", are also great examples of excellent dubbing.
But how could one forget the exact opposite: horrific dubs?! Where does one begin? Perhaps every Japanese monster movie?

That's the best thing about the Japanese monster movies!!
We have a bit of an advantage these days, because we can watch dvd's dubbed in English with English subtitles. Maybe we can figure which we like best, at least on a movie-by-movie basis. It's crazy fun reading along, seeing how closely it matches what they're saying.

Aye. Being an owner of both Troll 2 and Manos, I take great value in laughably awful movies.
On the other end of the spectrum, there is actually an English dub on my DVD of Rashomon! Can you believe that?
Sorry, but dubbing Toshiro Mifune is like dubbing De Niro: just wrong!

Whenever I'm in a bad mood, I crack a beer and turn on Univision (Mexican TV). There is nothing funnier than watching a Mexican soap opera and trying to piece together what's going on.
The only Spanish I know is...
"Dos Cervecas"
"Donde esta el bano?"
