Covenant's Guilty Conscience/Sins of Action and Ommision

Post by Rukh »

Spinning off here from another post.
Covenant's sins are both active and passive. There is the obvious issue of raping Lena, (and I concur that this is unforgivable.) He was responsible for Elena, in part at least, because the act of rape that conceived her tainted her spirit. She inherited her passion for Desecration from the act of violence that created her. And, of course his ruination of Lena cause the runination of Triock, and Atiaran, and Trell. The rest of his sins, in my opinion were mostly sins of ommission; he did not act when he should have. (Bear in mind that I am not using the word sin in any specific Judaeo-Christian sense; for me it is a good word for designating violations and failings.) The ommissions were a difficult point; I mean I can understand why he would feel guilt over them; but honestly I don't fault him as much for these as I do the rape and the consequences of it.
These are pale deaths which men miscall their lives...

completely :offtopic: i know but how did you manage to get 12000 WGD with just 25 posts?????///
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

Moderators have the ability to donate WGD's to any user. It's usually done as a 'reward' for posts that they consider exceptional, in the forums that they moderate.
