Amazing film, best I've seen in ages. This certainly goes into my list of favourites. Johnny Depp seems unable to deliver anything other than a stunning performance.

It was an ok movie, my friend and I were cracking up with Johnny Depp performance, we couldn't stop laughing everytime he moved his jaw in a funny way

Heh...not to rain on your parade, but I can't say I thought it was all that good. Johnny Depp is a fantastic actor and I can't really complain about *his* performance, but the movie definitely could have been better.

Might have enjoyed it more if Fight Club hadn't made it so obvious to me.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

For some unexplained reason, after a particular tense scene when something dreadful happens... it cuts to a close-up of a squirrel.

To me this said "the squirrel is the antoagonist behind all these bad signs!" -- seriously, what other conclusion could you draw?

Even after the end, I'm convinced the squirrel is the mastermind.

well, I have to give it a thumbs down. Saw it yesterday, thought it was rehash and badly written. I love Depp. And normally like John Tuturro (sp), but his performance was not that great here (i understand the reason for having him speak like a cliched hick, but...)
Had potential, but there were so many visuals used that didn't have any meaning, that quite possibly could have (the waking up on his couch over a gorge scene comes to mind).

5 out of 10 for me
