Nothing substantial? Is my own personal comfort not substantial enough? Also: I was not aware that I needed to be "redeemed" from anything. Hmm, news to me.

Whether or not my position is politically correct or extreme or "redemptive" is not my concern. I don’t see the slightest bit thing wrong with my decision, since it gives me the said comfort. Avidly seeking sex out does not give me that comfort. That's how I tick, and I don't apologize for that.

I suppose the only way one can understand my dismissal of a sex life is through being me, which is impossible, just as I can’t understand someone extolling the virtues of the almighty, life-transforming copulation. It just doesn’t factor into my life like it does others. Tragic, huh?

That is just a load of bollocks. I didn't set out thinking "Today I'm going to lose my virginity!" It just happened.
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure it did. We believe you, dude! ;)

And remember, virginity isn't a virtue; it's a condition.

..LF..Doing NOTHING is the Most Comforting!! LIFE is NOT..About..COMFORT!!...aaaaiiiiyyyeeee!

LF..you say you don't need it,,you want it, but you don't need it. What is it you don't need? All the preperation, all the " dance", all the " baggage", all the game playing,,etc, just to get to the act itself?, or is it the act itself .? Never experienceing the sensation of being inside a woman, enjoying all that is offered, and possibly exchanging likewise, is a difficult position , from which to claim to be not in need of,,much less, of a position to admit a wanting of but not worthy of an effort.

LF,,I have already suggested an alternate to " preperation, dance, baggage "route. But, you're in college. An according to what i have heard and read, times haven't changed the fact..the availibilty of non baggage laden relationships is more, in the college environment....

LF,,listen, I've had alot of fun with this thread. Thanks. but , really,,do yourself a favor,,not me, not your friends, etc, but your SELF,,You are way too young to be denying. From my perspective, i being in the autumn years of life,,you are waaaay to young to be making a decision that can have lasting repurcussions upstairs as well as downstairs. Do your self some good. Experience being inside a woman and letting go. At your age, you should be tucking as much experience under your belt as you can,,not making arguement on why you are not. I know its alot to ask,,but , everytime you start saying or thinking why you will not,,recognize what you are doing to yourself,,and say to yourself, ..just do it...if you want to know what comfort is..try finding the comfort of being in a womans post coital embrace, both you and her exhausted and spent...now, thats comfort.....MEL

Sorry to play the authoritarian here, but I'm going to lock this thread, at least for the time-being. If you feel there are signifigant issues that have yet to be addressed, please start a new thread. However, I believe the original conundrum has been resolved, so...
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
